Rapper Yeat brings the heat on his confident, cocky rap banger, “Talk.”
“Jump out at the show, jump out at the show / Had to change my flow, yeah, had to change the joke.” Woo! Honestly, there’s something special about 🎙 Yeat. I’m not sure exactly what, but as someone much older than the rapper, I see the hype. There’s a youthful swagger and draw that even the millennial in myself can fanboy. On his single 🎵 “Talk”, it’s safe to say Yeat certainly talks that shee-it!
“Talk” is odd, first and foremost. The listener gets an intro, which hypes things up. It’s followed by the pre-chorus, excerpted at the top of this review. Then, Yeat delivers a lengthy chorus. As wordy as it may be, by the time you hear it again later, and after successive listens, it endears itself. There are some memorable lyrics, beginning with Yeat “Riding in that big, lil’ ass Tonka truck.” Again, I say woo! There is a verse, however, which is sandwiched between the two choruses. Basically, he brags and flexes, asserting, “And I don’t give a fuck ‘bout the coupe, yeah, I pop the bitch on Tes’.” Well, that’s a sus line but definitely ear-catching. Further making “Talk” the vibe that it is is the production work by 🎛 BNYX®. The backdrop is dark, malicious, and perfect fuel for Yeat’s confident, hella cocky fire.
Final Thoughts 💭
Again, there’s something that just appeals to me when I hear Yeat. He’s starkly different than the rappers of my day but, I see the draw. “Talk” is intriguing – almost hypnotizing the way it’s been assembled. Furthermore, his flow – the cadence and some of the bars – is another draw. “Talk” isn’t game-changing, but it’s an entertaining banger for sure!
