Yeat Debuts at No. 6 | Scanning the Charts

usic chart analysis, here we come! Scanning the Charts is exactly what it says it is.  We peruse – scan – through the Billboard Charts and pick out eye-catching happenings. Scanning the Charts isn’t extensive, but rather short and sweet.  This week, we list 7 observations from the Billboard 200 ,  and 8 observations from the Billboard Hot 100 , with Encanto continuing its chart domination, and West Coast rapper Yeat debuting in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

Billboard 200

It should come as no surprise that Encanto spends a seventh week atop the Billboard 200.  As stated last week, it appears to be unstoppable!

West Coast rapper Yeat earns a top-10 debut with 2 Alive (no. 6).

Beach House debuts at no. 12 with Once Twice Melody.  

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges land a top-25 debut with their Texas Moon (EP) (no. 23). 

Oliver Tree debuts quietly at no. 60 with Cowboy Tears.

After debuting modestly at no. 14, Mary J. Blige,  The Queen of hip-hop soul, sees Good Morning Gorgeous, free fall to no. 81 in its second week. OUCH!

Conan Gray sees his 2020, gold-certified debut album, Kid Krow, re-enter the Billboard 200 at no 121 in its 32^nd week. Kid Krow originally debuted at no. 5.

Billboard Hot 100

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” spends a fifth week at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Jack Harlow debuts at no. 18 with “Nail Tech”. “Nail Tech” marks the highest debut on the Hot 100 this week.

Lil Durk earns another Hot 100 debut with “Ahhh Ha” at no. 42.

Gunna earns another Hot 100 entry with “Banking on Me” at no. 61.

After debuting at no. 21 last week, Ed Sheeran sees the Taylor Swift assisted “The Joker and the Queen” slide to no. 64.

West Coast rapper Yeat gets shit “Poppin” at no. 91. WOO!

Jessie Murph earns some favor on The Hot 100 as “Pray” earns a no. 95 bow.

HARDY is feeling hellish… in a heavenly sort of way! “Give Heaven Some Hell” ekes out a no. 100 debut.
