We Were Sharks, "Problems" [๐Ÿ“ท: Revival Recordings]Alternative collective We Were Sharks shines on their first single of 2021, โ€œProblems,โ€ set to appear on their 2021 album, New Low.

Often, it is said that itโ€™s a ๐ŸŽต โ€œThin Line Between Love and Hateโ€, as soul collective ๐ŸŽ™ The Persuaders so superbly expressed back in the day. ย I have to agree.ย  Also, ๐ŸŽ™ We Were Sharks seem to agree too, judging by their awesome new single, ๐ŸŽต โ€œProblemsโ€, set to appear on their forthcoming album, ๐Ÿ’ฟ New Low (May 21, 2021).ย  According to the band, the record โ€œfocuses on the stubbornness that can happen regardless of whether two people passionately love one another or if they are angry with each other.โ€ย  Again, sort of that โ€˜thin lineโ€™ thing.ย  The results that WWS serve up are quite impressive.ย  Read on the see exactly why Iโ€™m so high on this single!

โ€œProblems,โ€ which is set in a bright, major key, begins abruptly with assertive, energetic vocals.ย  Man, oh man, do I heart the tone of lead singer ๐ŸŽ™ Randy Frobel! Besides his beautiful, ripe pipes, he has quite the tuneful, sweet melody to work with.ย  Great vocalist and a great melody can only yield a great song, right? Right.ย  Furthering the greatness, the form is straightforward and easily accessible to all listeners.ย  The songwriting (Frobel, ๐ŸŽผโœ Colin Jacques, ๐ŸŽผโœ Jason Mooney, ๐ŸŽผโœ Matthew Sears, ๐ŸŽผโœ Paul Marc Rousseau of Silverstein, ๐ŸŽผโœ Sam Guaiana, and ๐ŸŽผโœ Will Plummer) is fun and well-rounded, particularly the pre-chorus (โ€œHot tempers, cold shoulderโ€) and of course, the chorus. The chorus is pretty epic thanks to dynamic guitars, pounding drums, and balanced but commanding vocals (Frobel never over sings or pushes too much). Focusing just a bit more on the production and sound beyond the chorus, the guitar work that precedes the bridge and continues throughout the bridge is S-W-E-E-T.

Final Thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญย

So, whatโ€™s the verdict on We Were Sharksโ€™ โ€œProblems?โ€ Well, itโ€™s quite satisfying! The pros are limitless with winning marks when it comes to vocals, songwriting, production, and honestly, the overall vibe. ย If your playlist needs a lift, give this awesome band a look with their awesome, totally โ€˜unproblematicโ€™ gem!ย
