Vickie Winans, More Than Enough | Music Lifts

In the 38^th edition of Music Lifts (2026), Grammy-nominated gospel musician Vickie Winans uplifts us by performing “More Than Enough.”

The goal is for these songs to make you feel better – be LIFTED to new heights!  So, for the 38^th edition of Music Lifts (2026), we highlight “More Than Enough” as performed by Vickie Winans.

Grammy-nominated gospel singer-songwriter Vickie Winans sings on “More Than Enough.” She continues, “Jehovah Rapha, You’re my healer / It’s by your many stripes I’ve been set free.”  Amen 🙏! “More Than Enough” is the sixth track on her 1997 live album, Live In Detroit. Robert Lane Gray composed it.

“More Than Enough” commences with a gorgeous piano introduction that sets the tone. Vickie Winans sings beautifully and expressively, accompanied by impressive, ornate piano accompaniment. Winans isn’t rushed as she sings the verse.  Following Jehovah Jireh and Jehovah Rapha, she calls upon “Jehovah Shammah, You are with me / You are here to supply all my needs.” As the song progresses, she puts even more oomph. The ad-libs are impressive.  She concludes the verse with the titular lyric, asserting, “You’re [God] more than enough for me.” After singing the main verse, the full accompaniment (keys, bass, strings, drums) and choir enter the mix. The choir sings the main melody, while Winans ad-libs/riffs. One of Vickie’s best moments: “They whipped Jesus all night long, Y’all, that’s the reason I’ve been set free!” Yes, yes, yes 🙌 👏! “More Than Enough” grows more reverent at the end of the verse. Things build back up with a timely key modulation and a spirited Winans! “More Than Enough” is a fantastic gospel record. Vickie Winans gives her all in her vocal performance, as she testifies to the greatness of G-O-D.  What more can you ask for?
