Tyga, Floss in the Bank [Photo Credits: Last Kings Music / EMPIRE]Riding a wave of resurgence, Tyga doesn’t necessarily capitalize on it on his ‘tried-and-true,’ predictable new single, “Floss in the Bank.”

For whatever reason, Tyga has been blessed to experience a resurgence.  A resurgence is rare, but somehow, the sexually-charged rapper saw his stock ascend in 2018.  Riding off the wave of his musical rejuvenation, he continues to release singles including his latest, “Floss in the Bank.” Resurgent he may be, but the formula remains mostly unchanged after all these years.

“Floss in the Bank” keeps things short, just crossing the two-and-a-half-minute mark.  That’s a pro. At the beginning, on the intro, there’s a shout out from the producer – “D.A. got that dope!” Perhaps a bit off-putting initially, “Floss in the Bank” embraces an Arabic quality, which makes sense after a while. Tyga continues to focus on sex and clout. The script is very basic, built upon clichés. Controversial, filthy lines exemplify the rapper, including the likes of “Ass like a cake, cake / Make your bitch turn gay / Lesbian, I’m like okay…” Ugh. The chorus is predictable as well. It’s okay, but not necessarily the catchiest of the rapper’s career either:

“Floss in the bank, still got candy on the paint

Lookin’ like a safe, ten bad bitches on a date

I’m the reason why them n***as hate

Man, them n***s gon’ hate, ayy…”

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, “Floss in the Bank” is merely okay.  Personally, I find it forgettable. Why is it ‘forgettable’ you ask? Well, Tyga doesn’t do or say anything that he hasn’t done in the past when he was initially popular.  Really, that’s about the size of it.  “Thank u, next.”
