The Rolling Stones, Angry [📷: Promotone B.V.]The Rolling Stones deliver and enjoyable, well-rounded rock joint with “Angry,” the lead single from their 26th studio album, Hackney Diamonds.

“Don’t get angry with me / I never caused you no pain,” 🎙 Mick Jagger sings, energetically, and expressively on 🎵 “Angry”, the lead single off 🎙 The Rolling Stones’ highly anticipated, 26th studio album, 💿 Hackney Diamonds (October 20, 2023).  The 80-year old front man continues singing in the opening verse, “I won’t be angry with you / But I can’t see straight.” Perhaps those lyrics aren’t the second coming, but Jagger brings the heat as he sings them.  Just hearing The Rolling Stones back, well past their prime, is a treat.

“Please just forget about me

Cancel out my name

Please never write to me

I love you just the same

I hear a melody ringing in my brain

Just keep the memories

Don’t have to be ashamed.”

Bitmoji ImageBeyond fabulous vocals and respectable songwriting, there are plenty more selling points regarding “Angry,” which won’t make Stones fans angry in the least.  The sound is vintage – old-school, blues rock. The drum groove (🥁 Steve Jordan) is strong, though of course, 🎙 Charlie Watts is greatly missed 🥲. The rhythmic guitar riffs shine (Jagger, 🎸 Keith Richards, and Ron Wood all play guitars.  Later, the piano (🎹  Matt Clifford) further amplifies the bluesy vibes, with a fabulous guitar 🎸 solo being the icing on the cake. By the end, the intensity is through the roof, with the musicians and Mick giving their all.  All told, Jagger, Richards, and 🎼 ✍ 🎛 watt (who also produces) deliver an enjoyable, well-rounded rock joint with 🎵 “Angry”.

The Rolling Stones are legendary but this video is terrible with the chick in leathers sticking out her tongue and cheesecake dancing.
