Tawnted (Jonathan Armswood) continues to be prolific, releasing another fabulous single in the heartbroken, โdo the same for me.โ
โCry when you left in a puff of smoke / Pain in the left of my chest you knowโฆโ ๐ Tawnted (Jonathan Armswood) has been quite prolific in 2023 releasing multiple singles ๐ช. ย At the age of 20, Armswood made big changes in his life: left his religion, came out ๐, and became a musician ๐ค. So far, the tunes that Armswood are releasing are on-point, with the brief ๐ต โdo the same for meโ following suit.
Two-and-a-quarter minutes is not very long, but itโs ample time for Tawnted to be potent.ย It commences with sick, rhythmic synths that appear consistently throughout the track. In addition to the synths, I heart the rhythmic nature of the melodic lines.ย While this is pop music, there is a bridge to hip-hop with the way Armswood performs particular lines. Vocally, he has a nice instrument to work with, one that appeals to the ears. One of the biggest selling points, of course, is the honest songwriting.ย โDo the same for meโ is all about matters of the heart, specifically, heartbreak. ย Armswood asserts, โBreak my arms but spare my legs / Take my heart cuz it wears your name / I fall apart, did you do the same? / Did you do the same for me?โ There is some pointed lyricism โ bombs are dropped (โI close my eyes and I f๐คฌck your ghostโ and โIf I had a clone, we would probably f๐คฌckโ)! ย All told, Tawnted brings the heat on ๐ต โdo the same for meโ.ย You hate to hear the talented singer/songwriter be hurt, but, at the same time, his pain is our listening pleasure. Schadenfreude?ย
