h, it’s time to get cozy and totally cover up! So, what’s the premise of COVERS? On COVERS, we highlight a musician or band covering songs by another musician (likely a popular musician). COVERS separates itself from a related column, Head 2 Head 🗣️, because it only highlights the musician who covers, not the original/most famous performer. Furthermore, COVERS opens the door for musicians who may not necessarily be as well-known. On the 1st edition of COVERS (2022), 🎙 Stephen Scaccia delivers a compelling rendition of 🎵 “To Be Loved”, originally performed by 🎙 Adele. So, without further ado, let’s dive right into the COVERS! #TheWarmthIsRealYall

Covering Adele is a tall task – UNDERSTATEMENT.  Furthermore, when you’re a male trying to do so, it gets exponentially tougher, shew! 🏆 Grammy-nominated R&B singer 🎙 Joe had success covering 🎵 “Hello” (💿 #MYNAMEISJOETHOMAS, 2016), which was featured as the 33rd Head 2 Head 🗣️ of 2021🎙 Stephen Scaccia does a marvelous job of covering my personal favorite song from 30, 🎵 “To Be Loved.” The moment I heard it, I fell in love 😍… with the performance, of course!

Bitmoji ImageSo, what makes the Stephen Scaccia rendition of “To Be Loved” so potent? His tone is rich, robust, and truly stunning.  I heart his confident low register, as well as his soaring upper register as the record progresses.  Furthermore, Scaccia sings with incredible sincerity, much like Adele does on her heart-wrenching original.  The reason why the Adele song originally appealed is that I felt what she was singing, and she did a bang-up job of conveying it.  Scaccia captures those same feels. Capturing the same emotion and oomph of the original can be an elephantine task, but Scaccia passes with flying colors.
