Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All music genres are welcome. Old and new songs are welcome. So, without further ado, in the 85th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Flip Flop,” performed by Stemin.

“F-L-I-P / F-L-O-P / I got ver-satility / F-L-I-P / F-L-O-P / I got, I got, I got.”
Woo! Stemin (Stefano Minder, he/him pronouns), the proponent of a pink universe of gay bops, brings some attitude and playfulness to his single, “Flip Flop.” He is joined by The gαуѕιαη ємρяєѕѕ σƒ ѕу∂ηєу, Dyan Tai (they/he pronouns), who co-produced the track. “Flip Flop” is quite an exhilarating musical ride.

Besides those undeniable, recurring lyrics, the production work is a selling point.  Sleek, with colorful keys, infectious synths, and a strong, syncopated beat.  There is never a boring moment; production contrast and switches keep you on your toes! Pop music should never be boring, and Stemin ensures it’s engaging throughout the three-minute-plus runtime.  Beyond the music, Stemin delivers memorable vocals that ooze with personality.  Also oozing with personality are… the lyrics! “All the good ones are making noise / Bad decisions with good boys,” he sings confidently, and continues, “One time, two times, switch it up / Third time you’re mine, aah.” Aah, indeed! Of course, Stemin gets naughty with it, saying, “Get freaky till dawn / Nothing is too much for me,” and asserting, “I can make you go for days / Hold on, hold on / I’ll show you all my dirty ways / Don’t stop, flip flop.” Ooh-wee! His confidence is through the roof, whether it’s “Feed my ego, I’m top-notch,” or “I know if you seek Amy / I can be your wildest dream.” “Flip Flop” is fun, fun, fun! Stemin probably has too much fun, if such a thing exists! “When you flip, I flop / Dyan down under, Stemin on pop / When you flip, I flop / Don’t stop, don’t stop!” Three words: Bop, bop, bop!
