~ Song Reviews 🎡 ~

Ah, welcome to the page that is dedicated solely to Single & Track reviews. Singles and tracks of various styles are evaluated in this section of The Musical Hype – We don’t discriminate. Track reviews are also available on the home page.

More often than not, the single reviews on the site tend to follow a format that includes an intro paragraph with background information, a body, comprised of 1-2 paragraphs of analysis, and a concluding paragraph that β€˜puts a cap’ on things. Each track also receives a star rating, on a scale of 0 – 5 (Β½ stars are used as well), that is visible at the beginning and ending of the review.

5 out of 5 stars = MASTERPIECE

4.5 out of 5 stars = NEAR MASTERPIECE

4 out of 5 stars = EXCELLENT

3.5 out of 5 stars = VERY GOOD

3 out of 5 stars = AVERAGE / GOOD

2.5 out of 5 stars = BELOW AVERAGE

2 out of 5 stars = MEDIOCRE

1.5 out of 5 stars, 1 out of 5 stars, 0.5 out of 5 stars, 0 out of 5 stars = BAD

Track reviews generally run a minimum of 250 words with many running north of 300 words. So, music enthusiasts everywhere – Musical Hypeians worldwide – get your fix of single & track reviews down below!!!

Indie pop has just opened its door to the fabulous new release from Ashley Singh. '17' is a track with heaps of charisma and a sharp melody.

On β€œOn My Own,” Shamir delivers a compelling rock anthem where he expresses being sufficient being on his own, sans love, post-breakup.

Deceased rapper Pop Smoke is unapologetic and tough AF on β€œMake it Rain,” the promo single from his forthcoming, posthumous debut album.

Leon Bridges brilliantly captures his thoughts about race & racial injustice through the beautiful single, β€œSweeter,” Ft. Terrace Martin.

JAHMED joins G-Eazy and Drew Love on the remix of β€œLove is Gone,” a β€˜woke’ protest song that originally appeared on The Beautiful & Damned.

Although totally unexpected, Lil Baby delivers an insightful, totally worthwhile protest anthem with β€œThe Bigger Picture.”
