Meg Lawrenson returns with her new single β€œUse My Body.” For me, possibly the best single from Meg in recent times.

Her previous tracks are awe-inspiring, but this new record stands out as being an indie-pop anthem. Catchy is an understatement, and its smart musical structure proves how much quality the Brit has stored in her armoury.

It all gets underway with a bold and colossal sounding intro. The drums thump their way through the speakers, and the guitar lead comes full of energy. As a result, it is the perfect opener. Once we get the massive premise out the way, we are in with a soft and moving vocal performance from Lawrenson. She speaks about a close relationship which is short-lived. She is unsure why she does what she does, and there is almost a sense of being taken for a ride. Her lyrics hit home, and her poignant delivery matches the theme tremendously well.

But, we are soon back in with a bang in the chorus with all guns blazing. Her sound is reminiscent of the pop greats including Swifty, but we hear a rocky edge too with a Hayley Williams vibe.

β€œUse My Body” is intelligent because Meg has taken note of the greats but yet added her uniqueness to the sound. It is what makes it such a remarkable listen. However, the artist is still very early on in her career; therefore, to ensure longevity in her career, she will need to drop even more bangers like this one. But I am sure she will.

As a whole, it is a heavenly record which deserves the recognition it is rightfully getting. You can listen to β€œUse My Body” below.
