Clay Evans & The AARC Mass Choir.

“When I look back over my life / And I think things over / I can truly say that I’ve been blessed/ I’ve got a testimony.”
Think about the blessings that have been bestowed upon you. No life is perfect, but we have so much to be thankful for. “I’ve Got a Testimony”, a gospel classic by Rev. Clay Evans & The AARC Mass Choir, speaks to counting blessings and giving thanks to God for all he has done. “I’ve Got a Testimony” was written by Anthony Tidwell.

“I’ve Got a Testimony” is a surefire gospel banger from the get-go. It’s indisputable! The church band is locked in – keys, organ, guitar, bass, drums, and exuberant horns.  Also locked in: uninterrupted, perfectly timed claps on beats two and four.  Woo! No one and three here, folks! An anointed soloist leads the charge, singing the verse and serving up gritty, soulful ad-libs. “Sometimes I couldn’t see my way through / But the Lord He brought me out,” she sings and proclaims, “Right now I’m free / I’ve got the victory / I’ve got a testimony.” Amen! Hallelujah! Matching the soloist, the choir ate and left no crumbs.  The chorus, excerpted earlier, is the section to beat. But the vamp is electrifying, too: “I have a testimony.” Simple lyrics, but powerful, powerful, and did I mention, powerful?! With “I’ve Got a Testimony”, Rev. Clay Evans & The AARC Mass Choir give us nearly 11 ½ minutes of praise.  While it’s lengthy, “Testimony” is a testament to just how good God has been.
