“Try fi rush me out, try fi brush me off, I see / Badman like Skull and me from Unruly, girl, why pree?” Um, 🎙 Drake, what exactly are you singing? Well, clearly, the Jamaican patois is in full effect, requiring some translation (‘why pree’ means ‘what’s up’). Drake makes one half of the personnel on 🎵 “We Caa Done” with 🎙 Popcaan being the other half.  In all honesty, this is Popcaan’s song given the fact it appears on his 2023 album, 💿 Great Is He

It should come as no surprise that “We Caa Done” is a V-I-B-E.  The production (🎛 TRESOR and 🎛 Batundi) is relaxed but potent, while Drake matches the relaxed vibe with his own chill delivery. “We cyaa done, we cannot done, we cannot done,” he sings on the chorus.  Of course, Popcaan shines on both the verses, compelling us with his melodic flow and, of course, that beloved patois in all its glory. “Thick gyal ah give me head inna the big Phantom / Dem know me ah do god like one a Jesus son,” he asserts in the first verse, later adding, “Hmm, jiggle up yuh body fi mi baby / Know say you love when mi cum inna yuh belly.” Well, that doesn’t require much translation, if any 🍆 💦 😈!

Final Thoughts 💭

big moodAll in all, 🎵 “We Caa Done” is enjoyable – definitely worth listening too. Is it life changing? Of course, not but again, it’s a VIBE. Drake is the perfect collaborator for Popcaan on this one while Popcaan has no shortage of swagger, including bragging about his sex skills. Perfect way to warm up the winter with summery vibes!
