Rap standouts Polo G and Lil Wayne join forces for a sweet melodic rap banger on โGANG GANG.โ
Welodic rap is all the rage and ๐ย Polo G definitely excels at it.ย After scoring a no. 1 hit with his single, ๐ต ย โRAPSTARโ, the young rapper is back with โanother oneโ โ another banger that is.ย On ๐ตย โGANG GANGโ, G collaborates with ๐ย Grammy-winning rapper ๐ ย Lil Wayne.ย The resulting banger mostly encompasses gang activity (duh) and drip โ theyโre both kind of a big deal after all.ย
โGANG GANGโ is produced by ๐ย Angelo Ferraro who provides a colorful backdrop โ a canvas โ for both rappers to paint upon tunefully.ย Polo G takes first blood, dropping a chorus that doesnโt sound initially catchy per se, but grows on you and endears itself as the song progresses.ย One feature of the chorus I do appreciate is the ending where him and later Wayne stretch out the final word, โflame.โ Also, I heart the Lil Wayne reference (โRunninโ from the jakes, block hot like Iโm Wayneโ).ย Polo goes on to deliver the first verse, which finds him feeling himself, bragging about the finer things in life (โGucci slides, Versace robes, palm trees, exotic hoesโ) and of course the aforementioned gang activity.
After Polo drops the second chorus himself, Wayne enters and eats the beat TF up. There are gun sounds produced by his voice, references to Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, Rick Pitino, and John Calipari, as well as drip, gang, and drugs (โIโll pour my heart out before my lean, baby, no R&Bโ).ย ย He actually concludes โGANG GANGโ performing the chorus, which by now latches more, and dropping an outro asserting, โCall me Capalotty.โ
Final Thoughts ๐ญย
Polo G and Lil Wayne on the same track โ a winning formula for sure. Perhaps it wonโt change your life but โGANG GANGโ is definitely worth adding to your playlist. Nice production and strong performances from both rappers.ย
