Polo G & Lil Wayne, "GANG GANG" [📷 : Columbia]Rap standouts Polo G and Lil Wayne join forces for a sweet melodic rap banger on “GANG GANG.”

Welodic rap is all the rage and 🎙  Polo G definitely excels at it.  After scoring a no. 1 hit with his single, 🎵  “RAPSTAR”, the young rapper is back with ‘another one’ – another banger that is.  On 🎵  “GANG GANG”, G collaborates with 🏆  Grammy-winning rapper 🎙  Lil Wayne.  The resulting banger mostly encompasses gang activity (duh) and drip – they’re both kind of a big deal after all.

“GANG GANG” is produced by 🎛  Angelo Ferraro who provides a colorful backdrop – a canvas – for both rappers to paint upon tunefully.  Polo G takes first blood, dropping a chorus that doesn’t sound initially catchy per se, but grows on you and endears itself as the song progresses.  One feature of the chorus I do appreciate is the ending where him and later Wayne stretch out the final word, “flame.” Also, I heart the Lil Wayne reference (“Runnin’ from the jakes, block hot like I’m Wayne”).  Polo goes on to deliver the first verse, which finds him feeling himself, bragging about the finer things in life (“Gucci slides, Versace robes, palm trees, exotic hoes”) and of course the aforementioned gang activity.

After Polo drops the second chorus himself, Wayne enters and eats the beat TF up. There are gun sounds produced by his voice, references to Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, Rick Pitino, and John Calipari, as well as drip, gang, and drugs (“I’ll pour my heart out before my lean, baby, no R&B”).   He actually concludes “GANG GANG” performing the chorus, which by now latches more, and dropping an outro asserting, “Call me Capalotty.”

Final Thoughts 💭

Polo G and Lil Wayne on the same track – a winning formula for sure. Perhaps it won’t change your life but “GANG GANG” is definitely worth adding to your playlist. Nice production and strong performances from both rappers.
