Peter Drucker, "Concrete" [Photo Credit: Peter Drucker]Singer/songwriter Peter Drucker impresses on single “Concrete” with his expressive vocals, compelling songwriting, and colorful production.

Perhaps you don’t know him yet but get to know singer/songwriter Peter Drucker.  The Toronto based musician is definitely special, bringing plenty to the table – a musical table that is! According to his bio, Drucker “creates melodies with infectious enthusiasm, and a lyrical intensity spanning well crafted collection of glimpses, into his mind.” That perfectly characterizes single, “Concrete. Drucker asserts, “‘Concrete’ is about a ‘friend’ of mine who seems to have moved on to greener pastures and left me behind to drudge through my dreary existence without them.” Not only does he intriguingly describe his work, he also superbly delivers it.

On “Concrete,” Peter Drucker shows off a distinct voice. His vocals can be characterized as colorful, while his performance can be described as nuanced and quite potent.  He has a beautiful melody to work with, on both the verses and chorus, a big selling point.  Complementing that melody is thoughtful songwriting, making “Concrete” well-conceived overall.  Adding to the many pros is the lively chorus, which makes excellent use of rhythmic, harmonized strings. Of course, the lyrics are pretty sweet as well:

“It’s like I can’t breathe rub my face in Concrete, tell me that you’re gone and you’re never coming home
It’s like I’m half gone, wishing I was half lost, maybe I was wishing you could stay a little longer,
Maybe that it’s alright, I don’t need sleep right, I can sit around and watch you dance among the stars,
Saying that, you’re gone, feels wrong, to me.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, Peter Drucker impresses on “Concrete.” This is a song that piques you interest from the beginning when you first hear those expressive vocals.  Of course, the lyrics are sweet as well, not to mention the colorful backdrop.  If you haven’t already done so, add Drucker to your playlist already!
