Paul McCartney, Egypt Station [Photo Credit: Capitol]Sir Paul McCartney continues to build anticipation for his long-awaited studio album, ‘Egypt Station,’ with his colorful third advance single, “Fuh You.”

“I could stay up half the night, trying to crack your code / I could stay up half the night, but I’d rather hit the road.”  Ah, the iconic pop/rock musician Paul McCartney returns with “Fuh You.” “Fuh You” marks the third advance single from his highly-anticipated new studio album, Egypt Station (arrives September 7, 2018).  Like his previous singles “Come on to Me” and “I Don’t Know”, “Fuh You” is an enjoyable, well-rounded record.

“Fuh You” begins abruptly with McCartney’s vocals, which remain awesome – he’s 76 years old! Among the best moments of his vocal performance is his fantastic falsetto on the chorus. He’s backed by excellent production which includes ostinato piano, keyboards (various patches), and strings.  In addition to those instrumental cues, the big drums that appear on the chorus are pretty epic. Sir Paul also benefits from an incredibly catchy chorus:

“I just wanna know how you feel / Want a love that’s so proud and real / You make me wanna go out and steal / I just want it fuh you, I just want it fuh you.”

Also, worth noting is the great contrast on the bridge section.

Final Thoughts

Even though there’s a classic sound, “Fuh You” also embraces modern pop, and it works out well for Paul McCartney.  Egypt Station is shaping up to be a superb album from the legendary musician.
