OK MICKEY, gay allegations ft. my girlfriend → Song Review

Canadian musician and producer OK MICKEY delivers a brief, cute, and quite fun single with “gay allegations ft. my girlfriend.”

“My boyfriend is my chica, the cutest boy in class / Some people may not get it, but I like my boy like that.” Um, okay… let that sink in. Canadian musician and producer OK MICKEY (Mickey Brandolino) highlights sus-ness on “gay allegations ft. my girlfriend.” Is there any way possible that this boy is S-T-R-A-I-G-H-T? Brandolino composed “gay allegations ft. my girlfriend” alongside his girlfriend, Eliana Arian, who also sings.  Brandolino produced it.

“Gay allegations ft. my girlfriend” is a trip from the start.  It features a busy, infectious groove.  Those ‘gay allegations’ start early, courtesy of Eliana Arian.  “Mm, my boyfriend’s got a earring,” she asserts in the intro, and continues, “My boyfriend, he’s got two.” Uh-oh! Oh, snap! So G-A-Y! The chorus, which follows, is the crème de la crème:

“My boyfriend’s always dancing, he loves to shake his ass

He’s twerking on the tables, and he’s got his sideways hat

My boyfriend is a diva, we kiki and we laugh

Some people may not get it, but I like my boy like that.”

My, my, my! Eliana said what she said, PERIODT. That said, even straight boys enjoy shaking ass these days! OK MICKEY gets into the action with more fun, irresistible lyrics during the brief verse.  He serves up a rhythmic, quick-paced rap: “Look, I / Pull up to the party with an attitude / And get higher than the cabin crew / And I / Apparently, I had a few / Mixing cough syrup with apple juice.”  The pre-chorus contrasts with its legato, sung melodies, performed by Mickey and Eliana.  Still, the chorus is where the bread is buttered.  The outro puts a bow on it: “I like my boy like that,” Eliana asserts, with OK Mickey concluding, “Some people may not get it, but I like my boy like that.” “Gay allegations ft. my girlfriend” may not change your life, but it’s brief, cute, and quite fun.
