Nobody, Daydreamer | Track Review 🎵

obody is proving to be quite the somebody with her new release, ‘Daydreamer‘. It is the first track from the London-based alt-pop singer to find its way onto our desk, and it could not have come at a better time!

Fusing modern elements with nostalgic melodies, Nobody brings a colourful soundscape to the alt-pop scene’s forefront. She is passionate, and her message hits home from the very start. Moreover, Nobody expresses a message about somebody taking up her thoughts. She daydreams about a special one, and she leaves no room for any ambiguity with her narrative.

Vocally, Nobody is on flying form with a mesmerizing delivery that echoes out of the salient mix. She is fearless, and although she stays relatively chill with her vocal performance, she still oozes ample confidence; it is evident that she is onto big things with her vision. Her tones are far from the status quo, and she heads down her own route. It is refreshing given the number of tracks that follow a current path.

Distinct musically, the track has multiple talking points. Furthermore, it has a relatively subdue overture with a harrowing quality which gets the ears griping instantly. But, just as you expect it to head one way, it leads in another. Towards the midsection, the pace picks up with might, and the thunderous rhythm drives the way forward with memorability.

Overall, ‘Daydreamer‘ is one of those tracks which never becomes tiresome. As a result, it gets even more potent with every playthrough. However, will it be enough to cement the singer’s name in the 2021 songbook? Only time will tell, but given the quality on display here, it will be no surprise to witness Nobody rising the echelon as we progress through the year.
