NF, Why [Photo Credit: Capitol]Christian rapper Nate Feuerstein, better known as NF, remains on autopilot on his compelling, energetic second single of 2018, “Why.”

“Too many faces, too many faces, too many faces.” Way to kick things off, that’s for sure! Since releasing his no. 1 album, Perception, back in 2017, ‘Christian rapper NF has released two singles in 2018:  “No Name”  and “Why.” “Why” arrives five months after “No Name,” which released in late January. Hook-less, Nate Feuerstein, gives us one gargantuan verse following the aforementioned intro.

“Who am I and who I wanna be cannot connect – why?” Everything that fans and listers of NF have come to know remains true on “Why.”  He remains ripe – nothing short of a fireball.  Clearly, a reason why this rapper who is a Christian is incredibly popular is because of his agile, hella energetic flow, and his ability to rap like secular rappers, sans drugs, profanity, and sexual references.  Some of the things encompassed in his verse include success (he references “Let You Down”), vulnerability, and remaining grounded.  In addition to fiery lyrics, he’s back by dark, menacing production work, which only propels him.

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Why” is another compelling record from NF.  As aforementioned, he checks off the boxes that are expected of him up to this point.  Electrifying flow and rhymes, dark, menacing production, and respectable themes.  He doesn’t explicitly mention God, but, clearly Nate is thinking bigger picture than the less important, shallow things in life.  Woo!
