Handsome and talented pansexual pop singer-songwriter Mike Taveira drops ‘anotha one,’ aka another bop, with “Payphone.”
It’s hard not to stare at the single cover art for “Payphone.” Two words: Mike Taveira. Phew! Here, our handsome pop singer-songwriter is lying in the bed of a pickup truck, naked. The ‘goodies’ are covered, but still, Mike has a knack for titillating. Besides his attractive bod, he makes great music. The music’s ‘what you came for,’ and “Payphone” doesn’t disappoint. Taveira wrote this track alongside frequent collaborator Skyler Cocco. Taveira, Cocco, Meesh Azzam, and Alex Koste produced it.
“Payphone” ‘cooks’ from the get-go. The enigmatic, electro-pop-infused intro is striking. The production is sleek, with colorful keys and a busy beat. While the instrumental stands out, Mike Taveira shines brightest. He delivers chill, easy-going vocals. Does this man ever break a sweat? It doesn’t sound that way! Mike serves up fast-paced, tuneful melodies. His staccato approach with some lyrics and notes is nice. Even nicer are the memorable lyrics he delivers. Among my favorite lyrics: “Too much, molly, at this party / Said he’s poly, but I want him to myself.” Understood! Another gem: “I’m at zero, zero / Take me to 100, be my hero / Be my fucking husband…” Oh, Mike Taveira, you’re special, my guy! “Payphone” marks ‘anotha one,’ to quote DJ Khaled. #SLAY!
