MÉLOVIN, небо | Beaming with Pride

In the 50^th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “небо” performed by Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and producer MÉLOVIN. 

Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 50^th  edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “небо” performed by MÉLOVIN.

No, your eyes don’t deceive you.  The lyrics, excerpted from “небо”, are in Ukrainian.  Небо is the Ukrainian word for sky.  The gorgeous ballad is performed by bisexual Ukrainian 🇺🇦 singer-songwriter MÉLOVIN (Kostiantyn Mykolaiovych Bocharov).  It appears as the 16^th and final track from his album, MRoom13 (Deluxe Edition), released in 2026. “небо” was written by Olena Melnyk. Big props, Olena! MÉLOVIN produced it.

“небо” commences with warm piano, setting the tone. MÉLOVIN hums temporarily, ushering in the fuller instrumentation, including the groove, which packs a mighty punch. The production is lush, as it should be for a ballad, and well-rounded overall. MÉLOVIN’s voice is absolutely beautiful. His tone is stunning.  The melodies he brings to life are memorable and perfectly constructed.  The lyrics are sung exclusively in Ukrainian. Even so, it doesn’t inhibit the ear-catching or striking nature of the song, particularly the centerpiece, the chorus.

“Для тебе це небо [For you this is heaven]

Для тебе в небі сонце горить [For you the sun is burning in the sky]

Вертайся до себе [Return to yourself]

Згадай, як твоє серце звучить [Remember how your heart sounds]

Згадай [Remember].”

The form of “небо” is straightforward: verse / pre-chorus / chorus, which occurs twice.  In the first verse, MÉLOVIN sings about aimlessly wandering, searching for the meaning of life.  In the second, he asserts, “You are more than drama…You have the whole world.” In the first pre-chorus, excerpted earlier in Ukrainian and translated to English, he asserts, “Ooh, all the explanations are not found / Ooh, we just have to move on.” In the second pre-chorus, referencing the sky, he sings “Ооо, відпусти своїх птахів [Oh, let your birds go free/fly, etc.].” More could be said about “небо” but it’s best to let the music speak for itself.  MÉLOVIN shines on this encouraging and reflective ballad.
