ell, SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is. I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye. This column isnβt extensive, but rather short and sweet. This week, I picked out SEVEN notable observations from the Billboard 200 π, and X observations from the Billboard Hot 100 π, with π Drake maintaining the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for a third straight week while π Lil Nas X bows at no. 2.Billboard 200 π
π π Drake spends a third consecutive week atop the Billboard 200 with πΏ Certified Lover. Notably, Drake keeps π Lil Nas X from debuting at no. 2. The pop artist settles for a no. 2 start with his debut album, πΏ Montero.

π Following two straight weeks at no. 2, after debuting robustly at no. 1, π Kanye West sees πΏ Donda slip to no. 4 in its fourth week on the charts.
π How about some updates from last weekβs highly touted newbies? π Kacey Musgraves keeps it top-10 with πΏ Star-Crossed, which descends from no. 3 to no. 10. As for π Baby Keem, he falls just outside of the top 10 with πΏ The Melodic Blue, which dips from no. 5 to no. 12. As for π J Balvin, πΏ Jose didnβt fare as well, sliding from no. 12 to no. 34.
π π Spiritbox earns the third highest debuting album on the Billboard 200, though it bows outside the top 10. πΏ Eternal Blue starts at a respectable no. 13.
