Rising pop singer/songwriter Lauv joins forces with the brilliant Troye Sivan on an enjoyable, ‘not-so-tired’ single, “I’m So Tired.”

“Party, trying my best to meet somebody / But everybody around me is falling in love to our song.” Lauv (Ari Leff) made quite a name for himself in 2018, dropping his debut mixtape, I met you when I was 18.. I met you when I was 18. Featured hits including “I Like Me Better” and “Paris in the Rain”.  As for Troye Sivan, the openly gay South African-born, Australian-bred pop star has been on an upward trajectory for years, delivering superb albums with Blue Neighbourhood (2015) and Bloom (2018).  Both of these talented musicians join forces on the short but sweet single, “I’m So Tired.”

Early on, “I’m So Tired” sounds ‘tried and true’ to the pop sound and identity that Lauv has established early on in his career.  The cut is chocked-full of rhythm, keeping it rolling right along. Lauv delivers chill, commanding, and tasteful vocals on the first verse, adding to the vibes established by the production work.  He never has to push, singing with incredible ease.  The same can be said of Troye Sivan, who has always benefitted from his subtlety and poise as opposed to gospel histrionics. He provides a sound contrast on the second verse, while incorporating the same approach.  The best part of the song is none other than chorus (performed by Lauv, eventually Sivan as well), which is infectious to the nth degree.

Just wanna go home, wanna go home
Wanna go home, whoa.”

Final Thoughts 

All in all, the world gets blessed with both Lauv and Troye Sivan working as a team on “I’m So Tired.” Both deliver compelling vocal performances, while being backed by a feel-good, groovy backdrop.  “I’m So Tired” doesn’t change the world, but no one should have to yawn even once listening to it.
