ou know what she wants? “Hey, she want that lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey / That kiss-kiss, kiss-kiss / In her mind she fantasize ‘bout getting with me!” Well, that’s what 🎙 Chris Brown and 🎙 T-Pain asserted on their 2007 gem, 🎵 “Kiss Kiss” from Brown’s sophomore album, 💿 Exclusive. For 🎙 Brandon Boyd and 🎙 Incubus, in 2006, they were all about “A kiss before the sky falls” on 🎵 “A Kiss to Send Us Off” from 💿 Light Grenades. Moving out of the aughts and into the 2020s, how about some meme action via 🎙 Dave Shawty and 🎙 Yungster Jack on the crude 🎵 “Kiss My Own Dick”? The connecting word in all three of these songs is – DRUM ROLL PLEASE – KISS 💋!🎧 Kisses: An Intriguing Compendium of Kiss Songs 💋 serves as both an expansion and follow-up to 🎧 17 Songs Where the Kisses are Everything, which was published in April 2018. It’s an expansion in the sense that some of the great kiss songs from that list reappear on this 25-song compendium. It’s a follow-up in the sense that there are some awesome new additions. Kisses: An Intriguing Compendium of Kiss Songs features music courtesy of 🎙 ABBA, 🎙 Doja Cat, 🎙 The Drums, 🎙 P!nk, 🎙 Prince, and 🎙 Rihanna among others. We haven’t covered every kiss song – there are far too many – but Kisses includes many gems.
1. Prince and the Revolution, “Kiss”
💿 Parade – Music from the Motion Picture Under the Cherry Moon • 🏷 Warner • 📅 1986
“You don’t have to be rich, to be my girl / You don’t have to be cool to rule my world.” That’s an awesome message to a potential lover, 🎙 Prince! Those iconic lyrics hail from The Purple One’s beloved no. 1 hit, 🎵 “Kiss,” among the greatest kiss-related songs of all time. With the previous ‘kiss’ list 🎧 17 Songs Where the Kisses are Everything focusing on songs released in 2010 and beyond, this 1986 gem from 💿 Parade didn’t make the cut (it did get a shout out though). With 🎧 Kisses: An Intriguing Compendium of Kiss Songs being all-encompassing, there’s no better way to start things off! “Ain’t no particular sign I’m more compatible with / I just want your extra time and your… KISS!”
🎙 Prince and the Revolution outdo themselves on “Kiss.” The groove is E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Prince gives a dynamic performance that oozes with personality and showcases his ripe, flawless falsetto. Essentially, thematically, Prince speaks about what his potential girlfriend must do to be with him, and it’s more sophisticated than not. “You got to not talk dirty, baby, if you wanna impress me,” he sings on the second verse, continuing, “You can’t be too flirty, mama, I know how to undress me.” It’s interesting given that Prince’s early catalog has its fair share of sexual songs, yet, here, he seeks more substance. Even if “Kiss” isn’t outlandish like, say, 🎵 “Head” from 💿 Dirty Mind is, “Kiss” is sexy to the nth degree. It should come as no surprise that Prince and the Revolution won the 🏆 Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “Kiss.” Rest in prince, Prince.
2. Doja Cat, “Kiss Me More”
Ft. SZA
💿 Planet Her • 🏷 Kemosabe / RCA • 📅 2021
Back with another hit, Grammy-nominated artist 🎙 Doja Cat taps a fellow Grammy nominee, 🎙 SZA for the assist on 🎵 “Kiss Me More”. The first time you hear “Kiss Me More,” it’s infectious to the nth degree. There are several reasons why this joint is so successful. For one, it goes to the track’s underpinnings – the harmonic progression used is sweet. Furthermore, the lush production work awesomely supports sweet vocal performances by both Doja Cat and later, SZA. Worth noting, an 🎙 Olivia Newton-John classic, 🎵 “Physical”, further fuels that fire.
Doja Cat both sings and rap, showing off her incredible versatility. She brings the heat on her rhymes coming over aggressive and sexed-TF-up (“I, I feel like fuckin’ somethin’” and “Niggas wishin’ that the pussy was a kissin’ booth”). Furthermore, she remains playful. As for SZA, she brings vocal contrast on the third verse, matching the aggressiveness of Doja (“Pussy like holy grail, you know that / You gon’ make me need bail, you know that”). Once more, Doja Cat has constructed another surefire bop – it screams H-I-T / B-O-P!

3. Keiynan Lonsdale, “Kiss the Boy”
🎵 “Kiss the Boy” • 🏷 Keiynan Lonsdale • 📅 2018
“You messing my emotions up / My air gets stuck / I’m scared to show just how I feel ‘cause people talk…” And it’s that last part of the first pre-chorus from 🎵 “Kiss the Boy” that makes a life-altering happening like coming out so difficult. On “Kiss the Boy,” 🎙 Keiynan Lonsdale urges embracing who you are – being true to self, coming out. First things first of course, in case you are unaware, Lonsdale is an actor, dancer, and musician from Australia, known for his role in the CW television series 📺 The Flash, and film roles in 🎦 Insurgent and 🎦 Love, Simon. As you might imagine, he’s a member of the LGBTQ community 🏳️🌈.
Following the pre-chorus, Keiynan tells us, ‘go all in!’ On the chorus, he sings:
“If you want to kiss the boy Then you better kiss the boy right now You ain’t got to be afraid Of the words you want to say right now ‘Cause love is a game we deserve to play out loud So, if you wanna Then you better kiss the boy.”
From that point on, Lonsdale encourages taking the plunge. On the second verse, he asserts, “Give into love / … Give it the time,” while on the third verse, he states, “Don’t want to hide / Most of my life I’ve been terrified / Spending my days always questioning / Am I wrong to love a man.” Essentially, he captures the fears, skepticisms of so many questioning their sexuality, ultimately saying, DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE WHO YOU ARE.

4. Rihanna, “Kiss It Better”
💿 Anti • 🏷 Roc Nation • 📅 2016
“Been waitin’ on that sunshine, boy / I think I need that back / Can’t do it like that / No one else gon’ get it like that…” One of the best songs from 💿 Anti, the 2016 album by 🎙 Rihanna, is undoubtedly 🎵 “Kiss It Better.” Yes, “Work” (featuring Drake) was the main attraction, but this slow jam is simply irresistible. Taking it a step further, this is one of the best songs of the R&B/pop artist’s career. “Kiss It Better” successfully blends childhood catchphrase and sexual innuendo.
“Man, fuck yo pride / Just take it on back, boy, take it on back, boy / Take it back all night.” Say that Rihanna, say that! Double entendre is amplified to the nth degree, causing every lyric to be read into.
“What are you willing to do? Oh, tell me what you’re willing to do (Kiss it, kiss it, better, baby).”

5. Seal, “Kiss from a Rose”
💿 Seal • 🏷 Warner • 📅 1994
“Ba-ya-ya, ba-da-da-da-da-da, ba-ya-ya.” One of my very favorite ‘kiss’ songs is none other than 🎵 “Kiss from a Rose” by 🏆 Grammy-winning pop singer, 🎙 Seal. Once upon a time, Seal was a force in pop music, especially in the 90s and even with his well-rounded 💿 Seal IV in 2003. No moment was bigger for him than “Kiss from a Rose,” which earned him three of his four Grammys (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance).
“Kiss from a Rose” is truly a ‘once in a lifetime’ song. Perfect songs are hard to come by, but this is one of them. As far as genre, the safest bet is pop, yet “Kiss from a Rose” dabbles in folk, rock, R&B – it exemplifies crossover. As far as the musicianship, it’s elite, including the unique harmonic progression, plenty of less predictable moments, a sublime vocal performance that ranges from tender to more overt, and the arrangement/orchestration and production. The songwriting (lyrics) is stunning, further accentuated by the nuanced vocals of Seal. The centerpiece, of course, is that epic chorus:
“Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray Ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the gray.”
Beyond the chorus, the verses have no shortage of lyrical highlights. “There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea,” he sings quietly but expressively on the first verse, continuing, “You became the light of the dark side of me.” On the second, Seal asserts, “To me, you’re like a growing addiction that I can’t deny / Won’t you tell me is that healthy, baby?” Nearly three decades old, there’s nothing unhealthy about this ‘kiss’ classic.

6. Carly Rae Jepsen, “This Kiss”
💿 Kiss • 🏷 Interscope • 📅 2012
“You know you’re just my type / And your eyes are lock and key / To my heart, tempting my confession / And you’re a real hot thing…” Arguably sound supersedes 🎙 Carly Rae Jepsen’s voice on 🎵 “This Kiss.” 🎛 Matthew Koma and 🎛 Redfoo produce a fine backdrop for Jepsen to paint over. “This Kiss” marks a highlight from her 2012 debut album, 💿 Kiss.
Keeping it 2012, the ‘big gun’ from Kiss was number one hit 🎵 “Call Me Maybe”. Nonetheless, “This Kiss” is a charming, fun, flirty, and innocent record. The centerpiece of the record, as you’d expect, is the chorus.
“This kiss is something I can’t resist Your lips are undeniable This kiss is something I can’t risk Your heart is unreliable Something so sentimental You make so detrimental And I wish it didn’t feel like this Cause I don’t wanna miss this kiss...”

7. The Spencer Lee Band, “Kissing Tree”
🎵 “Kissing Tree” • 🏷 Republic • 📅 2018
Pop/rock collective 🎙 The Spencer Lee Band introduced themselves to the world with the thrilling, funk-soul-infused single, 🎵 “Kissing Tree.” Initially, “Kissing Tree” is accompanied solely by rhythm guitar, playing just two chords. The chorus appears shortly after the simple intro, sporting smooth, soulful vocals by 🎙 Spencer Lee. Those vocals encompass magnificent falsetto and vocal harmonization.
Lyrically, the chorus is where ‘the bread is buttered.’
“Girl, just come with me Feel your fantasy I want to see you underneath this old kissing tree Hold my hand, sweet love Bless the stars above I want to see you underneath this old kissing tree.”
After flaunting sick falsetto on the chorus, Lee contrasts, exhibiting full-bodied, middle-register vocals on the first verse. The addition of snaps ‘broaden the horizons’ on the second iteration of the chorus, preceded by a string chord hit. Full-fledged, funky production appears on the second verse, including a clavinet reminiscent of the 70s. The lead vocals are chocked-full of swagger, attitude, and rhythm. The ad-libs are a selling point throughout, specifically towards the end of the record. Ultimately, “Kissing Tree” sounds refreshing, yet soulful and throwback.

8. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa, “One Kiss”
🎵 “One Kiss” • 🏷 Sony Music UK• 📅 2018
“I just wanna feel your skin on mine / Feel your eyes do the exploring.” Ooh la-la! 🏆 Grammy-winning Scottish DJ/producer 🎙 Calvin Harris and 🏆 Grammy-winning English pop sensation 🎙 Dua Lipa joined forces on 🎵 “One Kiss” in 2018. The first section we hear is the chorus, which occurs abruptly, with restrained vocals by Lipa. Ultimately, it’s simple, effectively conveying the theme of the record.
“One kiss is all it takes Fallin’ in love with me Possibilities I look like all you need.”
Beyond the chorus, “One Kiss” follows a simple, but effective form consisting of verse, pre-chorus, chorus, and post chorus. Dua Lipa doesn’t remain restrained for long, riding Calvin Harris’ infectious dance groove like a champ with her robust instrument. She’s smoother than usual, but once again shows herself to be a truly alluring singer. As for “One Kiss,” overall, this is surefire, dance/pop gold. Harris and Lipa make a formidable team.
9. Usher, “Good Kisser”
🎵 “Good Kisser” • 🏷 RCA • 📅 2014
“Don’t nobody kiss it like you.” On 🎵 “Good Kisser,” 🎙 Usher certainly doesn’t keep it PG – at best, he’s restricted. The kisses he’s singing about don’t involve a peck on the cheek or even full-on lip action. No, the kisses he sings about on are those ‘deep south’ kisses, involving his private parts – ‘little Usher’ if you will.
He gets raunchy, but certainly men can relate to the central theme…
“See, I told her, the devil is a lie Them other girls can’t compete with mine You do it so good, you fuck my mind You pull it out, then you open wide You make me wanna tap out and retire Your pretty lips leave me so inspired.”

10. Katy Perry, “I Kissed a Girl”
💿 One of the Boys • 🏷 Capitol • 📅 2008
“That was never the way I planned / Not my intention / I got so brave, drink in hand / Lost my discretion…” Well, that’s very telling 🎙 Katy Perry. Of course, the opening lines from the first verse set up the 2008, bisexual 🏳️🌈 anthem (rather, bi-curious), 🎵 “I Kissed a Girl.” Of course, the juiciest part of the verse is the second half, where Perry asserts, “Just wanna try you on / I’m curious for you…”
Does “I Kissed a Girl” have a transcendent message? Eh. A Huffington Post article sheds some light on this controversial, though extremely popular hit. Regardless of the controversy, you could argue “I Kissed a Girl” broke barriers at the time. Same-sex interactions wasn’t a popular topic for pop hits back in 2008. And who didn’t “like it” at the time? By the way, the “cherry chap stick reference” was naughtier than anyone thought. Worth noting, Swedish collective 🎙 Jupither recorded a cover, 🎵 “I Kissed a Boy” providing the queer male perspective.

11. All Time Low, “Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass”
💿 Dirty Work • 🏷 Interscope • 📅 2011
“So, I wrote a song / Hope that you sing along / Here it goes / Merry Christmas, bitch – kiss my ass!” Christmas actually isn’t the main focus on the 🎙 All Time Low song, 🎵 “Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass”, which appears from their 2011 studio album, 💿 Dirty Work. Front man 🎙 Alex Gaskarth has experienced heartbreak – a bad break-up – so, essentially, his ex has totally ‘pooped’ on any holiday spirit he might have experienced. “Don’t you think it’s kind of crappy / What you did this holiday? / When I gave you my heart, you ripped it apart / Like wrapping paper trash.” Oh ‘sugar foot’!
Alex spends the entirety of the song angry AF to say the least – there’s no other way to put it. On the second verse, he’s so pissed that he asserts, “I tear down decorations / They remind me of your smile / I hate that mistletoe / It makes me think of our first kiss.” Yup, angry and totally emo to the nth degree. Essentially, ‘merry’ isn’t very ‘merry’ in the least here. More interesting is the colorful phrase ‘‘kiss my ass’, which has been masterfully used by the likes of John Wayne Gacy as well as the non-psychopathic (Zac Efron has a memorable scene in Hairspray).

12. Machine Gun Kelly, “kiss kiss”
💿 Tickets to My Downfall • 🏷 Bad Boy / Interscope • 📅 2020
“Hey, you / Same time and the same place / We can get shit-faced, yeah, yeah.” Um, okay! On 🎵 “Kiss Kiss” (💿Tickets to My Downfall, 2020) excess rules the roost as far as 🎙 Machine Gun Kelly is concerned. “Get me a drink and cigarette,” he asserts on the first verse, continuing, “I just need to go out ‘cause I can sleep when I’m dead.” Wow! THAT’S 👏 SO 👏 POP- 👏 PUNK 👏 INDEED 👏!!!
“Let’s get back in the car, it’s time to do it again,” Kells asserts on the second verse, continuing, “Light up a blunt and a cigarette.” He shows his deck of cards without disguise, essentially. Hey, musicians are being more and more honest in the 2020s, right? Right! The honesty is capped off by the “Kiss-kiss, kiss-kiss the bottle all night” chorus. Yep, that excess is crystal clear.
13. One Direction, “Kiss You”
💿 Take Me Home • 🏷 Columbia • 📅 2011
Kisses can be innocent – they don’t all lead to a universal three-letter word. Back in 2011, boy band 🎙 One Direction were dropping relatively innocent, bubblegum pop songs. Sure, the sexual innuendo would increase post 💿 Take Me Home, but at this time, 🎙 Harry Styles, 🎙 Liam Payne, 🎙 Zayn Malik, 🎙 Louis Tomlinson, and 🎙 Niall Horan kept it innocent enough!
“Yeah, so tell me girl if every time we Touch, you get this kind of rush Baby, say yeah, yeah.”
Well – maybe the touch part isn’t that innocent! Regardless, the Brit-Irish boy band delivered a fun joint in 🎵 “Kiss You.” It’s chocked-full of schmaltz, perfect for bubblegum pop! Even as corny as it is, the infectious, irresistible nature is undeniable.
“If you you don’t wanna take it slow And you just wanna take me home Baby, say yeah, yeah.”

14. Kelly Rowland, “Kisses Down Low”
💿 Talk a Good Game • 🏷 Republic • 📅 2013
On 🎵 “Motivation” (💿 Here I Am, 2011), 🏆 Grammy-winning R&B artist 🎙 Kelly Rowland showed off her risqué, sexy side (“I don’t wanna feel my legs /… I just wanna feel your hands all over me”). She’d up her game, becoming more risqué on 🎵 “Kisses Down Low” from her 2013 album, 💿 Talk a Good Game. Producer 🎛 Mike Will Made It provides Rowland with a superb backdrop, which screams S-E-X.
Believe it or not, “Kisses Down Low” isn’t brash regarding sexual endeavors. That said, it’s certainly not innocent either, thriving off innuendo and suggestiveness. The big takeaway is, the kisses that Rowland desires and sings about go beyond locking lips:
“I like my kisses down low Makes me arch my back When you give it to me slow, Baby just like that that.”

💿 Process • 🏷 Young Turks • 📅 2017
“Those incomplete kisses / Were weighing you down with every step / In this house we’re sinking / But we’re far too numb to really care.” The groovy 🎵 “Incomplete Kisses” serves as the penultimate record on 💿 Process, the brilliant debut album by 🎙 Sampha (Sampha Sisay). In the context of Process, “Kisses” sounds closest to being a contemporary R&B song.
“Incomplete Kisses” isn’t as sad as most of Process. That said, there is still solemnness. That solemness is evident on the second verse. Here, the pain of the loss of his mother rears its head.
“Flying high above all your memories I have a birds-eye view A child stood at the cemetery He looks just like you.”

16. The Manhattans, “Kiss and Say Goodbye”
💿 The Manhattans • 🏷 Sony Music Entertainment • 📅 1976
“This has got to be the saddest day of my life / I called you hear today for a bit of bad news,” Winifred Lovett says on the intro of 🎵 “Kiss and Say Goodbye.” He continues, “I won’t be able to see you anymore / Because of my obligations and the ties that you have /… Let’s just kiss and say goodbye.” “Kiss and Say Goodbye” is one of the greatest R&B songs of all-time, period. This 1976 classic hails from 🎙 The Manhattans (and their 💿 self-titled album) and marks their biggest hit. Just how big was “Kiss and Say Goodbye”? Well, it topped the Hot 100 – the pop charts! Sadly, “Kiss and Say Goodbye” wasn’t recognized by The Recording Academy, but The Manhattans would win their sole 🏆 Grammy with another hit, 🎵 “Shining Star” five years later.
What makes “Kiss and Say Goodbye” so iconic? Everything! The production is idiomatic of the 70s soul sound – lush, picturesque, romantic, and warm. The vocals are stellar, from the commanding, expressive lead (🎙Gerald Alston) to the assertive backing vocals. The theme and lyrics are relatable, as the love affair has come to an end. Even if it’s wrong, breaking up is difficult regardless of the situation, something that “Kiss and Say Goodbye” captures perfectly.
“We’ve been meeting here so long I guess what we done, oh, was wrong Please darlin’, don’t you cry Let’s just kiss and say goodbye.”
17. DNCE, “Kissing Strangers”
Ft. Nicki Minaj
🎵 “Kissing Strangers” • 🏷 Republic • 📅 2017
Like previous records by pop band 🎙 DNCE, fronted by 🎙 Joe Jonas, single 🎵 “Kissing Strangers” thrives off its groove. Rhythmically, the record is unified. There’s no escaping the one-two punch of the bass line coupled with the drums. The production work is slick AF (🎛 Mattias Larsson and 🎛 Robin Fredriksson), for lack of a better description.
“Kissing Strangers” isn’t far-fetched in sound or conception from the band’s seminal hit 🎵 “Cake by the Ocean,” particularly given its nonsensical, carefree syllables. Like “Cake,” this is incredibly tongue-n-cheek, evidenced from the jump. Lyrically, depth is NOT the M.O. Per the usual, “Kissing Strangers” is heavy on flirty and lite on nutrients and legit substance. 🎙 Nicki Minaj doesn’t ‘up the ante’ on her guest verse – blame it on the quick tempo, and/or the shallowness of the song itself.
“I got a boy that I kinda like This is a kiss-kiss, tongue him down kind of night… Drip, drip, with a kitty cat, put it in his lap Sip, sip, on the tip, tip, lick on his lip-lip I think he tryna hit young Nic’ like a quick pick.”

18. 3OH!3, “My First Kiss”
Ft. Kesha
💿 Streets of Gold • 🏷 Photo Finish • 📅 2010
🎙3OH!3 make incredibly dumb music. I highly doubt that either 🎙 Nathaniel Motte or 🎙 Sean Foreman would disagree. The Colorado frat boy hip-hop act has dropped dumb shit the likes of 🎵 “My Dick” (“Every time I look at my dick, I’m like, ‘Holy shit, that’s a big dick’”) and years prior to that, 🎵 “House Party”, where they ‘intelligently assert,’ “I’m gonna have a house party in my house.” WTF? Anyways, “House Party” and the kiss-driven song at hand, 🎵 “My First Kiss,” appears on the duo’s 2010 album, 💿 Streets of Gold. Adding to the utter ridiculous fuckery, 🎙 Kesha assists (bridge).
“My first kiss went a little like this / And twist and twist…” Oh brother, what an intro/bridge. Beyond the bridge, the verses and chorus aren’t any deeper. Sean doesn’t care about his education, but rather the fact “I got a kiss under the bleachers, hoping that nobody looks.” Of course, he doesn’t stop there, as he goes on to ask, “Excuse me miss, but can I get you out your panties?” Predictable. Nathaniel is no better – “At the foot of the stairs with my fingers in your hair / Baby, this is.” Hmm, wonder what he’s ever getting at… Maybe the most overconfident part comes courtesy of the chorus:
“She won’t ever get enough once she gets a little touch If I had it my way you know that I’d make her say Ooooooh...”
SMDH 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. I channel the late, great 🎙 Amy Winehouse when she sings on 🎵 “Me and Mr. Jones”, “What kind of fuckery is this?”

“Just when it can’t get worse / I’ve had a shit day / Have you had a shit day? / We’ve had a shit day.” Wow, that’s a lot of shit, 🎙 P!nk! The 🏆 Grammy-winning pop artist shines on 🎵 “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” one of the catchiest singles of her illustrious careers. Furthermore, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” graces one of her best albums, 💿 The Truth About Love, which was chocked-full of hits.
“White knuckles / And sweaty palms from hanging on too tight / Clenched shut jaw / I’ve got another headache again tonight.” Now that’s a mood! P!nk penned the relationship-on-the-rocks record alongside the great 🎼✍ 🎛 Greg Kurstin who constructs a neo-new wave pop cut with edge. Also, worth noting, “Blow Me” can be characterized by its four on the floor beat (most true to form at the beginning of the verses). As for Alecia Moore, well, she slays vocally. The vocal production is perfect, particularly on the second part of the chorus, excerpted at the top and continued as follows:
“I think that life’s too short for this I want back my ignorance and bliss I think I’ve had enough of this Blow me (one last kiss).”

20. Trippie Redd, “6 Kiss”
Ft. YNW Melly & Juice WRLD
💿 A Love Letter to You 4 • 🏷 TenThousand Projects • 📅 2019
Question: how much does the 🎙 Trippie Redd song, “6 Kiss” have to do with kissing or kisses? Answer: very little. “6 Kiss” appears on the melodic rapper’s 2019 album, 💿 A Love Letter to You 4. Notably, he enlists 🎙 YNW Melly and 🎙 Juice WRLD (RIP) for the assist. Let me reiterate that kisses aren’t essential on this one.
Juice WRLD kicks things off aggressively yet chill – oxymoronic, right? Unapologetic and sexed up, he asserts, “Do whatever I want, don’t give a fuck, live my life / … I got your wife, she my slut, she take nut…” Ooh wee! He also insults those not on his level, stating, “It’s funny how you pussy, but you never been inside one.” Now that’s just disrespectful! YNW Melly follows, also focused on his ‘joystick’ early on (“Nut, my kids, she swallow them”), as well aas towards the end of his verse (“Chillin’ on that couch, fuck your bitch in her mouth”). Speechless… He also brags about his drip. Finally, Trippie closes things out on the third verse of this hook-less joint, focusing most on living that “Fucking triple six life… that 6 kiss life.” No, Trippie doesn’t worship Satan, but he sure messes around with 🎵 “The Number of the Beast” frequently.
21. The Weeknd, “Kiss Land”
💿 Kiss Land • 🏷 Republic • 📅 2013
“You can meet me in the room where the kisses ain’t free / You gotta pay with your body.” 💿 Kiss Land served as the official debut album of Canadian, 🏆 Grammy-winning R&B sensation, 🎙 The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye). While moderately successful, Tesfaye experienced bigger success with later albums 💿 Beauty Behind the Madness and 💿 Starboy. Both albums are better-rounded than Kiss Land, but 🎵 “Kiss Land” itself stands out. Worth noting, “Kiss Land” runs north of seven-and-a-half-minutes in duration and is comprised of two-parts. Tesfaye penned the lengthy title track alongside 🎼✍ Danny Schofield, 🎼✍ Jack Holkeboer, 🎼✍ Jason Quenneville, and 🎼✍ S. Tellier.
The first two verses appear in ‘Part I,’ including the excerpted lyrics from the second verse. Prior to that, Abel is naughty AF, asserting, on the first verse, “When I got on stage, she swore I was six feet tall / But when she put it in her mouth / She can’t seem to reach my…” Woah! ‘Part II’ features a lengthy third verse, in addition to an outro. The lyrics aren’t ‘family friendly’ in the least here. A prime example:
“I can’t stand talkin’ to brand new girls Only bitches down to fuck when you shower them ones...”
Furthermore, Tesfaye discusses his come up, the plight of fame, and ample drug use (“Last week was my rough week / I’m still drippin’ down from my nose”). Yikes!

22. ABBA, “When I Kissed the Teacher”
💿 Arrival • 🏷 Polar Music International AB • 📅 1976
🎙 ABBA – KIND 👏 OF 👏 A 👏 BIG 👏 DEAL 👏! Specifically, the Swedish quartet’s 1976 album, 💿 Arrival, features their ‘ace-in-the-hole,’ 🎵 “Dancing Queen.” Sadly, the beloved “Dancing Queen” doesn’t fit the parameters of a kiss-fueled list. No worries though, as the opening track of this 1976 iconic album does meet the parameters: 🎵 “When I Kissed the Teacher.” Woah!
“Everybody screamed / When I kissed the teacher.” I BET THEY DID! Can you imagine? Anyways, later, on the first verse, ABBA (🎙 Agnetha Fältskog) adds, “All my friends at school / They had never seen the teacher blush, he looked like a fool / Nearly petrified…” Yep, because speaking as a certified music teacher myself, only bad, career-ending things could happen in this scenario – DON’T 👏 GET 👏 YOURSELF 👏 IN 👏 THIS 👏 SITUATION 👏 EVER 👏, even if it makes an awesome, up-tempo pop song! Of course, ABBA doesn’t stop with this NIGHTMARE teacher fantasy, with Agnetha asserting, “I was in seventh heaven.” She’s 🎵 “Hot for Teacher”, stating, “One of these days / Gonna tell him I dream of him every night / One of these days / Gonna show him I care, gonna teach him a lesson alright.” Woo! It continues, of course, as the poor teacher was “Trying to explain the laws of geometry” while his student had lust in her heart!
23. Lennon Stella, “Kissing Other People”
💿 Three. Two. One. • 🏷 Records Label / Columbia • 📅 2020
“How do you know / That you’re not really holding on anymore?” Yeah – how do you know when you’re over that devastating break-up? Well, my friends, pop singer 🎙 Lennon Stella gives us the answer on 🎵 “Kissing Other People”! “Kissing Other People” appears as the second track on her 2020 debut album, 💿 Three. Two. One.
Of course, no need to leave you hanging – you deserve an answer! Per the title, “Kissing other people!” Expounding on this is the chorus:
“Kissing other people Oh yeah, that’s how I know that your love s gone That’s how I know ‘m really moving on ‘Cause I don’t feel guilty kissing other people.”
It’s simple but is Lennon Stella wrong? Of course not. Though, sometimes, you kiss other people when you’re supposed to be faithful and “Love the One You’re With”, so, that’s another situation… Anyways, the Canadian singer makes her point loud and clear with “losing [herself] in a new someone.”
24. The Drums, “Kiss It Away”
💿 Brutalism • 🏷 Anti • 📅 2019
“Touch me where I’m hurtin’ / Hold me when I don’t belong,” 🎙 Jonny Pierce sings energetically and passionately on the chorus of 🎵 “Kiss It Away.” 🎙 The Drums’ front man continues singing on the chorus of the seventh track from 💿 Brutalism (2019), “Kiss away my confusion / Kiss it away, kiss it away…” Basically, we have the perfect addition to a kiss-heavy compendium!
The indie-pop/alternative rock collective put in work on “Kiss it Away.” There’s energy from the onset thanks to Pierce’s passionate vocals and honest lyrics, as well as the groove and ear-catching music. Pierce allows himself to be vulnerable: “I’m not embarrassed to admit that / I need your physicality / Every human becomes weak.” He has a point, and he’s tasteful about it. On the second verse, he urges his partner to “Come destroy my fragility.” By the bridge, he’s had it and needs ‘it’ badly:
“This dull sadness, so goddamn stubborn I can’t take it anymore Your body, so shocking Lay me down on the floor On the floor.”
Ooh wee – Jonny needs a workout 🏋! The Brutalism, y’all!
25. The Little Mermaid Cast, “Kiss the Girl”
💿 The Little Mermaid • 🏷 Walt Disney • 📅 1989
“Sha-la-la-la-la-la, my, oh, my / Look like the boy too shy / He ain’t gonna, kiss the girl.” #Classic. Sure, 🎵 “Under the Sea” is the crown jewel from Disney’s 1989 masterpiece, 🎦 The Little Mermaid, but 🎵 “Kiss the Girl” is in contention for that 🎵 “Number One Spot” #Ludacris! The Little Mermaid marks the beginning of the Disney Renaissance, which spanned 1989 to 1999. This is Sebastian’s moment to shine – with some sea creature friends joining him for the ride, of course!
As with any good fairytale or fantasy, kissing and kisses are essential. Here, Sebastian and company encourage Prince Eric to kiss Ariel. Of course, the kiss truly is essential – the clock ticking – so that Ariel doesn’t become a mermaid again or belong to that evil octopus, Ursula, who’s a total b*†¢h – Oops – forgot this is family-friendly, children’s song! My bad!
“Do what the music say You gotta kiss the girl.”
