keshi, MISS ME → Song Review

Pop singer-songwriter keshi wants his ex to miss him (as much as he misses her) on his gorgeous ballad, “MISS ME.”

“So, why do I still see you everywhere?” Your guess is as good as mine, keshi (Casey Thai Luong). Dive further into his single, “MISS ME,” and matters of the heart drive the narrative. He can’t get this ex off his mind! Keshi composed “MISS ME” alongside boylife, Nick Velez, and Justin Tranter.  Keshi, boylife, Nick Velez, and Daniel Chae produced it.

“MISS ME” begins enigmatically with a brief instrumental introduction.  From there, keshi’s pure, gorgeous vocals take the reins. His tone is exquisite.  He navigates the heartfelt lyrics and tuneful melodies like a champ. “It’s not home / Now it’s just a place I never go,” he sings in the second verse, and continues, “Said I won’t / But if I thought about you, would you wanna know?” The chorus is quite moving:

“Oh, baby, say you miss me

Cry yourself to sleep because you miss me

Shatter from the weight of all our history

I want you to hurt when you’re not with me

Say you miss me too.”

After a relatively uncomplicated accompaniment, more instrumentation arrives post-chorus, including strings.  Contrasting the ‘even keel’ nature of this ballad, the bridge is powerful: “I tried to cut the bed in two, a side for me, a side for you / I know we didn’t get it right, but baby, one more time.” Keshi ‘rises to the occasion.’ All in all, “MISS ME” is a stunning ballad.  Keshi sings radiantly, the songwriting is memorable, and the production is terrific.
