Jxckson, the independent pop artist you need to be spinning, delivers a sickening new bop with “Sirens,” intact with a stellar music video.

ow do you like your music? I like mine sickening and one independent pop artist you may or may not be familiar with excels at being sickening. That would be Jxckson who came into my listening rotation in the year of our Lord, 2022 – Amen! Honestly, all it took was one sickening bop, “Lover Boy” and the Austin, TX musician had me. Hopefully, he increases his fanbase with his latest bop, “Siren” which has an argument for his best work to date. Adding to the excellence – the sickening vibes – is a marvelous music video.

So, what makes “Siren” a surefire vibe? Well, where do we start? How about the production! Boy Sim cooks up slick, energetic production work for Jxckson to sing over. The groove is inspiration for the pop artist. Of course, Jxckson, the walking bop maker, is already locked-in with playful vocals, attitude, and dare I say, sickening lyrics. You know it’s ‘on’ at the top in the intro: “Proceed with caution / Ring the alarm.” From there, Jxckson compels, making us lean onto his every lyric, such as “Start my engines / Rev it up and rev it up / I’m so ready and well equipped / I’ll have you right / Right at my fingertips.” You do darling – you do! Of course, the crowning achievement – the centerpiece – is the chorus:

“Ring the alarm

I’m calling out for you baby

Ring the alarm

Bringing you in like a siren

We could have it all

Just answer my call.”

WOO! Also, I must shout out the music video. The visuals are giving, and the choreography – wait for it – the word of the day is SICKENING! Not only can he sing, but he can dance. The video is as fun to watch as the song is to listen to. That’s excellence right there!

Final Thoughts

big mood Okay, okay, Musical Hype – get yourself together! You have swooned over Jxckson and “Siren” long enough! This is another great contribution to the Texan’s catalog, period. Why? Great vocals, great songwriting, great production, and an awesome accompanying music video. Two words: IT’S GIVING!
