Jason Mraz, Have It All © AtlanticGrammy-winning pop singer/songwriter Jason Mraz makes an inspired, positive, uplifting, comeback on single, “Have it All.”

The “Geek in the Pink” is now 40 years old! That would be singer/songwriter Jason Mraz if you’re not quite ‘up to snuff’ with pop culture of the 00s-10s.  Mraz quietly released a new album in 2014, Yes!, but it didn’t exactly ‘light up’ the charts.  He makes a fantastic comeback with his uplifting single, “Have It All.”

Jason Mraz may not reinvent the wheel on “Have It All,” but he is definitely ‘true to self.’ For Mraz, it’s all upbeat, positive vibes. On both of the verses, he wishes nothing but good fortunes and vibes, prefaced most often with the phrase, “May you…” He follows each verse with a clever pre-chorus that thrives on wordplay, such as “…I made the role, let’s play.” His ‘bread is buttered’ on the chorus, otherwise known as ‘optimism central!’

“Well, here’s to the hearts that your gonna break

Here’s to the lies that you gonna change

Here’s to the excellence, possible ways to love you

I want you to have it…”

There’s even more inspiration from Mraz on the chorus, but that’s the basic premise.  On the bridge, the encouraging, hopeful language continues in all its glory.

“Oh, I want you to have it all

All you can imagine, oh

No matter what your path is

If you believe it, then anything could happen…”

Final Thoughts

For Jason Mraz, it’s ‘smooth sailing to the nth degree’ on “Have It All.”  From the first time hearing it, this is song that you can’t help to smile after hearing.  This is feel good music, and pop needs more of that these days.  He may be 40, but Mraz certainly doesn’t sound anywhere near being ‘over the hill.’
