Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 62nd edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Princess” performed by Isaac Dunbar.

“Stage one (Meet girl) / Stage two (Fuck up) / Stage three (Cry, going 70 on a 30) / Stage four (Harbor) / Goddamn (Anger) / Stage five (Curl up and die).”
Well, that’s a hell of a pre-chorus, isn’t it? Isaac Dunbar is one of a kind. The former wunderkind is still quite young (b. 2003) and incredibly talented. “Princess” marks another creative, clever bop from Dunbar, who shows even more range since his “Isaac’s Insects” days. He composed “Princess” with Jack Schrepferman, J Moon, and producer Wyatt Bernard.

Christopher is the colorful character Isaac has created.  The first lyric of the first verse tells you what you need to know: “Christopher’s a dummy.” Gah-day-um, Isaac! That’s not the only eyebrow-raising moment from the first verse, however.  “A woman’s what he needs / A legacy and kingdom / But he’s ignorant and ugly, so celibate is he.” In the second verse, Dunbar serves up even more lyrical outlandishness, whether it’s “Six foot one with a Napoleonic complex, what a mess,” or “ He was that one friend where you’d go to his house, and he’d call his mom a cunt.” 🥴 😳 Oh, there’s more, led by the crème de la crème, the chorus!

“He hates girls, but he wanna be a princess

He hates girls, but he fucks them in excess

Cruising with his boys and gagging over Joe Rogan.”

That’s wild! I’m gagged listening to and reading the lyrics, Isaac! Oh, and in the bridge, the lyrics that pique interest: “Pussy ass nigga.” Isaac Dunbar puts on a show, ladies and gents.  Sometimes he chants/talk-sings (verses), while at other times, he shows off those powerful pipes, in all their high-flying glory (half of the pre-chorus and the chorus).  The musical accompaniment is marvelous, with its throwback pop/rock vibes, which sound incredibly refreshing in 2026.  The chorus, the biggest and most melodious part of “Princess”, is nothing short of epic.  Isaac Dunbar never fails to impress or compel.
