ank Quillen, the American singer-songwriter who plays indie rock, has released a new single, ‘Treading Water‘, which is captivating from the outset! A moving release that features a fresh and crisp edge while also dipping into a sound made famous by other greats working in the same sector.Quillen, who spends his time working professionally in music and acting, deviates from the status quo with this release. As a result, he makes a significant step forward for himself and the genre as a whole. Additionally, he does not adhere to a predetermined formula but does things his own way, resulting in a soundscape that is totally distinct in its own right.
Hank offers a newfound pizzazz, and he manages to combine a myriad of playing techniques and genres into one coherent whole! There are subtle influences from some of the best in the game, such as Jimmie Rodgers and other blues heroes from a bygone era. His playing on the guitar is one of the aspects of the track that stands out the most, and it is also the first sound that can be heard from the speakers when the track initially starts.
Vocally, Hank possesses an unconventional method and frequently maintains a relatively low-key demeanour for the most part. He never let’s loose his true inner power, but this approach is effective and contributes to the track’s overall feeling. Moreover, the lyrics discuss how one must proceed with caution, being on the verge of collapse while still forging ahead despite any obstacles that may present themselves.
