“We all have rather diverse influences, which really comes through in our music and gives us a rather unique sound, I feel.” Simple and straight to the point. Like our many other Getting to Know Q&As, we get the inside scoop on our esteemed interviewees, the Youngstown, Ohio rock/metal band, 🎙 Inherently Lost. 🎙 Joe Matijasic, the guitarist for the band, answers our burning questions, informing us about the collective’s genesis, goals, musical influences, and of course, current, and future endeavors. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into 🎤 Getting to Know… Inherently Lost: Interview No. 331!

For those who may not be familiar with Inherently Lost, what would you say makes you distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

🎤 Well, we all have rather diverse influences, which really comes through in our music and gives us a rather unique sound, I feel.

Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did Inherently Lost form and what were some of the goals or visions you had early on?

🎤 We formed between 2017-18. We basically just wanted to make the best music we possibly could together. We’ve always had the vision of creating something unique.

Let’s talk more about goals.  Have your goals or your perspectives changed since first starting out? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

🎤 They haven’t changed much. We still thrive to make the best music we possibly can. A definite goal for the next few months, is finishing up our first full length album. We’re also looking to play a lot more shows now.

Everybody is influenced by somebody else. Whom would you consider some of your biggest musical influences and how are they influential?

🎤 So, so many between us all. Personally, for me would be Gojira, Tool, Meshuggah, and Godflesh, to name a few. I love music that takes you on a journey.

Ah, the fun stuff.  What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance?  Feel free to be creative.

🎤 So far, nothing crazy or wacky that comes to mind. We haven’t had the chance to play many shows though as a band. We’ll get back to you on that one, haha!

Inherently Lost [📷: Inherently Lost]Up until this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

🎤 I would say at this point 🎵 “Unraveling Sanity”. It’s such a banger!

Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left of center the world should know about you? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

🎤 I play the recorder. Who knows, it may just end up on one of our songs one day! Haha.

Closing out, what is Inherently Lost currently working on, promoting that you can share with us or want us to know about? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

🎤 We’re currently working on and finishing up our first full length album. The first single, 🎵 “Unraveling Sanity”, is set to drop 2/2/23. Mark your calendar!! – Joe Matijasic Inherentlylost/Guitarist
