So, without further ado, let’s jump right into 🎤 Getting to Know… Ephemera: Interview No. 334!

For those who may not be familiar with Ephemera, what would you say makes you distinct or unique? How do you rock the audience’s socks off?

We are a 4 piece hardcore/metalcore band from Leeds/Bradford, UK.  We have a cathartic vibe, challenging angst vocals, over riffs and breakdowns, with a focus on mental health and the band unites with a unified statement of discontent and anti-establishment. Hardcore in its refined form.

Okay, let’s explore some juicy backstories. How did … form and what were some of the goals or visions you had early on?

Well, at the beginning it was just an artistic outlet whilst in the pandemic by Chris (guitarist) and Mason (vocals).  Once restrictions lifted, Adam (bass) and Olly (drums) joined to jam out the songs live and it’s just spiraled from that point on, going from strength to strength.  Our goal we set from the start was to work really hard and have fun doing it.

Let’s talk more about goals.  Have your goals or your perspectives changed since first starting out? What do your aspirations or goals look like now?

Well, we hit all our goals we set out in 2022 and then some, so starting 2023 really strong, our next goal is to make out first full length album.

EphemeraEverybody is influenced by somebody else. Whom would you consider some of your biggest musical influences and how are they influential?

To name a few music influences would be Counterparts, Architects, Against The Flood and early Myspace hardcore, but we draw influence from all genres.

Ah, the fun stuff.  What’s your craziest tour story or the wackiest thing that’s happened during a performance?  Feel free to be creative.

Something happens at every gig aha. We go pretty hard.

Up until this point in your career, what would you describe as your favorite song you’ve recorded or performed live? What makes that song special?

Special m nation for our song as it was the first one we had wrote as a four piece, but our latest single, 🎵 “Sick” is so fun to play and has taken up a life of its own, it recently was played in Radio 1, also.

Is there anything else awesome, cool, or left of center the world should know about you? Secret talents or surprising tidbits?

We have pretty much been totally DIY, in the band we have 2 tattoo artists that are extremely talented and so we do all our own artwork and visuals.

Closing out, what is Ephemera currently working on, promoting that you can share with us or want us to know about? We love secrets, but there’s no pressure.

We are starting on our first full length album this year and our hard work has paid off as we have just been signed to unearthed management, so big things on the horizon.

signing off
