Dixon Dallas, F150 [📷: Dixon Dallas]The always entertaining Dixon Dallas (Jake Hill) returns with another satisfying, gay country gem with “F150.”

“Well, when we get to sipppin’ whiskey / And we get a little frisky, I climb up on him, ride him like a F-150,” country singer 🎙 Dixon Dallas asserts in the chorus of his entertaining, unapologetic single, 🎵 “F150”.  In case you entered “F150” thinking that the gay alter-ego of 🎙 Jake Hill was referencing the beloved Ford pickup truck, Dallas shuts that notion down. The lustful refrain continues, “Got me hootin’ and hollerin’, I’m begging him for more / Nothing but my boots on, baby let’s get down on the floor.” Clearly, with some alcohol in him, Dixon Dallas is a freak, who enjoys it from the back.  “F150” follows several progressive bops from Dallas including the bussy-referencing 🎵 “Good Lookin’” and the ballad, “Sleeping All Alone”.

Dixon Dallas, 2 More [📷: Dixon Dallas]Dallas Dixon keeps things brief on “F150,” to the tune of little more than two-and-a-half minutes in duration. It benefits from a fine countrified instrumental featuring a fabulous guitar riff. Furthermore, the piano shines too. I love the fact that the backdrop is particularly spare at the onset. It’s not too much –  just the right amount.  Positively, “F150” never grows overblown, something that some country records, and pop music in general, are often guilty of.  Hill sings with a terrific tone, sounding idiomatic of country through and through. The songwriting is catchy, fun, and of course, G-A-Y (we Stan), while the melody is equally tuneful in the verses and chorus. pride heart burstShout out the unapologetic nature of the songwriting, something that country music itself could use plenty more of. “F150” is risqué, though less overt  than 🎵 “Good Lookin’” or the songs Hill has released as 🎙 ur pretty (🎵 “Keep Riding Me” and 🎵 “Fill Me Up” ) which are hella explicit. Make what you will of Hill/Dixon Dallas.  Is he queer baiting or is Hill a member of the LGBTQ community in some form or fashion and just not revealed? Regardless, 🎵 “F150” is the rare instance a country song about a trucks truly tickles my fancy 🤘.
