DJs Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike deliver an enjoyable single with “Hey Baby.” They are assisted by Diplo and vocals courtesy of Deb’s Daughter.

The prevalence of DJs (and electronic music) has expanded immensely in 2016. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are the latest pair of DJs looking to break through stateside, hailing from Belgium.  The brothers collaborate with Diplo and singer Deb’s Daughter on enjoyable single, “Hey Baby.”  

“Hey Baby” opens exuberantly, in a minor key. Expectedly, it features slick production work, with synths and anchoring drums intact.  The chorus is catchy, characterized by its innuendo:

 “Hey baby, it’ll all be fine / take a deep breath let me blow your mind / hey baby, leave it all behind / show me your love and I’ll show you mine. ” 

Deb’s Daughter gives a respectable vocal performance.  The falsetto is the selling point. Beyond the basics, there’s little more to analyze about “Hey Baby.”  It’s sound and enjoyable.

Final Thoughts

As stated previously, “Hey Baby” is an enjoyable electro/dance song.  By no means is it transcendent or the second coming.  The vocals are solid, perfectly suited for this type of music.  All in all, “it’s all good” for Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
