Darcy Louch, {re}defining | Album Review

ertfordshire-based Darcy Louch, whose new EP, ‘{re}defining‘ is now available to stream online, has the soulful-pop energy coursing through her veins!

The EP kicks out with the critically acclaimed track ‘Worst Enemy‘. The multitalented singer-songwriter emerges from the shadows and captivates her way to the head of the pack with a mesmerising sound, and her charm grows more with each subsequent play. The first track of the EP features some poppy-sounding keyboard taps that gets the EP off to a blazing fast start. Soon after, a bass line enters the fray and meets a daring drum rhythm. Meanwhile, Darcy seduces and pleases with an alluring vocal delivery.

The song ‘Love Game‘ makes it abundantly clear that the bass guitar is essential to Darcy’s musical compositions. It then rides an unknown and dark path in the prelude. The following track is ‘Proud‘; it begins with a groovy soul guitar rhythm that transports us to a different dimension, followed by another engaging vocal performance from Darcy, who sings about doing things that make her proud of herself. Darcy’s music has a thrilling edge, and her vocal is also no exception; her tones merge faultlessly with the music playing in the background, giving her performance an exhilarating style.

The party is in full swing with ‘Imposter Syndrome‘. Furthermore, the energising guitar riff adds a sense of well-being to the overall experience. The final song on the EP is ‘Same Stars‘, and it is here that we realise that Darcy is a formidable opponent in the music industry.
