Cooper Bloom, Drinkin Alone | Track Review 🎵

Canadian pop newcomer Cooper Bloom impresses on his short but sweet and uplifting debut single, “Drinkin Alone.”

Coping mechanisms – we all possess them.  Some are healthy, while others can be totally destructive.  For pop newcomer 🎙 Cooper Bloom, his coping mechanism was drinking.  “I think drinking during the hard times was an escape for me to stop thinking about the reality of everything going on,” the Canadian musician states.  Of course, drinking as a coping mechanism isn’t healthy, something Bloom acknowledges with the release of his debut single, 🎵 “Drinkin Alone”. “By acknowledging that drinking wasn’t a healthy way for me to cope,” he states, “I turned to healthier outlets such as songwriting, working out, and cooking.”  We are so glad this handsome, young, rising artist found a much healthier way cope.  Furthermore, we are so glad he dropped a short but utterly sweet bop.

Cooper Bloom may be up and coming, but the potential is through the roof – he’s on fire! First and foremost, Bloom has a beautiful voice.  His instrument is readymade for pop, NO CAP.  He never over- nor under- sings, delivering a chill, expressive performance.  You could say that the youngster is easy on the ears, haha.  Beyond those poppin’ ‘pop’ pipes, “Drinkin Alone” benefits from its bright (major key), smooth, and inviting production work.  The groove is infectious.  The synths are colorful – quite picturesque in sound.  Basically, the canvas with which Bloom gets to paint upon – F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!  The final component, of course, is the songwriting.  He tackles the dangers of one’s mind (that accompany struggles, you might say), ‘drinking alone,’ and ultimately arriving at a better, healthier place.  He accurate characterizes the record as being “hopeful and uplifting, a song that would have helped me when I needed to make a change for the better.”

Final Thoughts 💭

Cooper Bloom – remember that name.  If the pleasant “Drinkin Alone” is any indication, this Canadian has plenty to offer.  Here, he manages to deliver a personal single that’s incredibly decadent to the ears and offers a positive, prudent message.  Fancy sufficiently tickled Cooper!
