Complex, Where We Came From | Track Review 🎵

I am not too familiar with this Complex’s backlog, but one thing I know is how great his new track “Where We Came From” is.

It has plenty of Hip Hop flavour, which makes it stand out truly on its own. But we also hear a pop fusion which brings a new and original quality to this already immense sound. Musically, it is very cohesive, there is nothing within it which should not be there, and the production is on top form.

What do I love most about it? Its foresight. The track is paving the way for future sounds in this genre, and I relish the bright blend of gently delivered vocals and nail-biting rap bars. Complex sings with passion; he speaks about his past. As a result, the lyrics resonate incredibly well and also prove massive prevalence during these crazy times of uncertainty. I could not help but have flashbacks to my youth, and his word choice is smart.

It starts with a melody vocal and a deep sounding piano lead. An intense bass and drum rhythm then follow with Complex providing a robust vocal performance. The chorus is bold, and its catchiness is a pure treat.

Overall, it is a top-class performance from Complex. He takes us on a trip down memory lane, and the adventure we find ourselves on is unforgettable. Therefore top work Complex for providing us with something with cumbersome meaning. Also, the myriad of influences on the track works wonders. Although there is a similarity to some of the greats, we do hear plenty of unique qualities which is great to hear. I am sure you will relish this one if you love the freshest Hip Hop and Pop.
