Georgia country singer/songwriter Cole Swindell has taken a “slow, but steady” approach to launching and promoting his third studio album, All of It.  Throughout the course of 2018, Swindell released four singles (“Break Up in the End”, “Somebody’s Been Drinkin’”, “The Ones Who Got Me Here” and “Reason to Drink”) all relatively quietly, leading up to the album’s announcement.  Upon finally announcing the arrival of All of It (August 17), he released a fifth advance single, the album’s opener, “Love You Too Late.”

“Love You Too Late” commences All of It energetically, with a moderately fast tempo.  Early on, Swindell references alcohol – shocking. That said, it’s in the context of heartbreak and understandably, the man needs a cold one. “I wish this whiskey / Would make her miss me / Like I wish she did, I wish she did.” Basically, he messed up as a boyfriend with his inaction, and now she’s gone, over him, and “Man, it ain’t pretty, no.” At the very end of the record, he truly regrets loving her too late, singing, “I can’t take back what / I never said but / If I could, damn, I would.” A lot of men and women have been in the exact same situation Cole.

Final Thoughts

All of It, from early indications, appears to be a strong third studio LP from Cole Swindell.  “Love You Too Late” is another great addition to the advanced singles from the effort.  Is this the crowning achievement so far? Nah, “Somebody’s Been Drinkin’” and “Reason to Drink” might have the edge, but, this is another record worthy of spins.
