CloudCloud Releases New Song “Nobody’s Dreaming”

Contributed by George James

'N

obody’s Dreaming’ sits quiet for almost thirty seconds before Cloud even lets you know what kind of song you’re in. That patience is the whole point. Most artists would have thrown a hook at you by second ten, scared you’d skip. Cloud just lets the silence sit there until the harmonics start climbing on top of each other and suddenly you’re pinned under a wall of sound you didn’t see coming.

I’ve gone back to this track three times now and each listen catches something new, a layer buried under the synths, a shift in the low end that I missed the first time. It’s anthemic in the way certain rooms feel bigger once the lights go down, not because anything obvious changed but because your attention finally caught up to what was already there.

The reach on this guy is genuinely impressive for someone working out of Japan. 160,000 plays on Spotify, 80 percent of that from American listeners. “Overdrive” alone sits at 120,000. Two tracks have made mainstream radio, over 100 Western outlets have covered him, and he pulled in Luis and Alex for studio work that shows up in how dense the mix feels without ever getting muddy.
