Brent Faiyaz, "Eden" [๐Ÿ“ท: Hollywood]Brent Faiyaz shines on the socially conscious, spiritually driven โ€œEden,โ€ appearing on Black History Always / Music for the Movement Vol. 2.

โ€œIย got on my knees and pray / Ainโ€™t no problems go away / Here in Edenโ€ฆโ€ Unfortunately, even though prayer is the key, that doesnโ€™t mean โ€˜this thing called lifeโ€™ is without trials and tribulations.ย  Clearly, R&B standout ๐ŸŽ™ Brent Faiyaz (Christopher Brent Wood) discovers that on his new single, โ€œEden,โ€ which appears on ๐Ÿ’ฟ Black History Always / Music for the Movement Vol. 2.ย  Even though thereโ€™s plenty of pain and problems to be sorted out, and the prayer hasnโ€™t assuaged or atoned at this point, โ€œEdenโ€ is a marvelous, must-hear record from a truly talented musician.

โ€œEdenโ€ marks another winning moment for Brent Faiyaz, period.ย  First and foremost, vocally, he sounds absolutely stunning. His vocals are quite rich, expressive, and nuanced on the verses. The falsetto that he exhibits on the chorus is particularly wonderful โ€“ definitely ear catching.ย  Consistently, Faiyaz sings with incredible soul and authenticity โ€“ you definitely buy what he is selling.ย  Further boding well in his favor is the sound of the record.ย  The production by ๐ŸŽ› Los Hendrix is pretty sweet, with guitar being the key accompaniment.ย  Still, eventually, he also gets support from background vocals, strings, a robust bass line, and keyboards.ย  Last but not least, the songwriting is strong too, as Brent explores spiritual matters, including referencing the Garden of Eden.ย  The context? The struggles of being black, including the cruel injustices and searching for equality in whatโ€™s clearly and unequal world.ย  Deep to say the least.

Final Thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญย

Brent Faiyaz has done it again โ€“ delivered a well-rounded single that showcases his talent. ย Throughout the course of โ€œEdenโ€ he sings beautifully, exhibiting ample soul. Furthermore, heโ€™s backed by superb production work.ย  The lyrics, well, theyโ€™re not too shabby in their own right.ย  All in all, another notch in the artistic belt for Christopher Brent Wood.
