Billie Eilish, you should see me in a crown [Photo Credits: Darkroom / Interscope]Rising alternative pop artist Billie Eilish ‘brings the heat’ without having to break a sweat on her epic new single, “you should see me in a crown.”

Billie Eilish is only 16.  That’s shocking.  The rising alternative pop artist has already proven that she has maturity and a voice that is transcendent beyond her young age.  After impressing on the likes of “b*****s broken hearts” and “lovely” with Grammy-nominated artist Khalid, she returns fiercely on “you should see me in a crown.”

What’s impressive about Billie Eilish is how cool and poised she can be vocally.  She doesn’t have to throw gospel histrionics at her audience to move them or to pack a punch.  That’s the case on “you should see me in a crown” where her vocal tone is breathy and she opts for the more understated.  Even though she’s not screaming aggressively, her teenage angst is in full force, aided by sleek, electronic-infused production.  The best example comes on the chorus, which is the crowning achievement of “you should see me in a crown.”

“You should see me in a crown / I’m gonna run this nothing town / Watch me make ‘em bow / One by one by one / One by one by…”

Impressively, Eilish doesn’t have to be profane to frighten you with her attitude.  No, she just relies on a mesmerizing instrument, alluring songwriting, and laser-sharp production.  At the end, the synths really pop, further amplifying the awesomeness of the record.

Final Thoughts

Just to reiterate – Billie Eilish is only 16.  To reiterate again, that’s shocking.  Regardless, Eilish is on an upward trajectory, and only an act of God can stop her! “You Should See Me in a Crown” is just one of many future hits to expect from this ‘crown’ jewel (see what I did there?).
