Benjamin, Helahoito | Beaming with Pride

In the 83^rd edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Helahoito,” performed by Finnish pop singer-songwriter Benjamin.  

Are you ready to beam with P-R-I-D-E? Beaming with Pride highlights songs by LGBTQ musicians and allies, offering background, analysis, and discussion of the decadent bops served up. All genres are welcome, and both classics and new songs are recognized. So, without further ado, in the 83^rd edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Helahoito” performed by Benjamin.

The last bit of those lyrics sounds fucking familiar, if you catch my drift: “The drinks are all dricka, drack, and druckit / And my head is a little bit fucka, fuckat, fuckit.” 🥴 Gorgeous 😍 Finnish 🇫🇮 pop singer-songwriter Benjamin (Niclas Benjamin Peltonen) excels at making bops. “Helahoito,” which was released in June 2026, is no exception.  Performed almost exclusively in Finnish, what does Helahoito mean in English? ‘The whole kit and caboodle,’ everything, the whole shebang – the full treatment! Ooh-wee! Benjamin composed “Helahoito” with Mikko Koivunen and Senni Rantanen.  Mikko Koivunen produced it.

“Helahoito” features colorful, sleek production. The synths pop, and the beat is lively. Beyond the shimmering electro-pop backdrop, Benjamin brings it.  His vocals are easygoing yet energetic – he never forces things.  Even if you don’t understand the Finnish, the melody is rhythmic and tuneful, with great contour.  When translating the lyrics into English, it’s clear Benjamin delivers his fair share of gems.  In the esikertosäe (pre-chorus), Benjamin asks, “Hej på dig / Do you wanna play? / Sun silmät kertoo kaiken / Nyt me mennään all the way [Hey to you / Do you wanna play? / Your eyes tell it all / Now let’s go all the way].” The section to beat on this bop is the kertosäe (chorus), the crème de la crème.

“Onks täällä kuuma vai kuuma? Hei riisu multa kaikki pois jo Niinku ois jo En tarvii muuta ku uuh na-na Laita mun keho laulaa sun kaa ranskaa Ta mig vart du vill Jagg vill bara vara din Anna mulle helahoito Ta mig vart du vill Jagg vill bara vara din Anna mulle helahoito (Helahoito).”

“Is it hot in here, or is it hot? Hey, take everything off me already Like it’s already happening I don’t need anything but uuh na-na Make my body sing French with you Take me wherever you want I just want to be yours Give me the full treatment Take me wherever you want I just want to be yours Give me the full treatment (Full treatment).”

The silta (bridge) brings contrast while simultaneously connecting with the rest of the song (“’Cause I’m a little in love and confused / When I’ve never felt this way before / I want to hold on to you”). Ultimately, Benjamin serves up plenty of Finnish musical goodness on “Helahoito.” Strong vocals, memorable melodies, and top-notch production make this bop truly Beam with PRIDE!
