bbno$ continues to entertain āsomething fierceā on his brief but potent single, āantidepressants,ā which is sure to have you āfeelinā good today.ā
āIām on them antidepressants, we feelinā good today.ā bbno$ (Alexander Gumuchian) is back, and not long after releasing ācheckā.Ā This time, our confident, handsome, and hilarious Canadian brings āantidepressantsā. Gumuchian penned āantidepressantsā alongside Ian Roller, Valentine Brunn, and producer dwilly (David Wilson). Brief, clocking in under two minutes, it proves to be another ear-catching bop from bbno$.
āAntidepressantsā opens lushly, with a fluty, windchime-heavy intro. That is before more intriguing sounds enter the mix, including menacing synth bass, sickening synths, and pummeling drums. The groove kicks ass and takes names, no cap! As always, bbno$ drops ridiculous, profane rhymes. āFreezing from the ice, I need a peacoat / Yeah, I touch that butt, call me Nеmo,ā he raps in the first verse, continuing, āKeep it white outside, Al Pacino / Asics on my feet ’cause I’m a chеap-o.ā Ooh-wee! His cadence and flow remain top-notch. His agile rhymes and playful approach are indeed, āthe shit,ā which he says he is on the infectious chorus:
āIām on them antidepressants, we feelinā good today
Watch me make an entrance, yeah, Iām the shit today
Antidepressants, a-a-antidepressants
Watch me make an entrance, yeah, Iām the shit today.ā
The second verse is as entertaining as the first, where bbno$ asserts, āShe wanna get dick from me, Iām baby no polygamyā¦ā Never change, bbno$.Ā āantidepressantsā is not a profound track, nor is it meant to be. But Gumuchian continues to entertain āsomething fierceā and not take himself too seriously.Ā That is a win!Ā
