Bazzi, "I.F.L.Y." [Photo Credit: Bazzi]Although he gets a bit profane, Bazzi shows off his vocal prowess, as well as the fact that his ‘heart is in the right place’ on the enjoyable “I.F.L.Y.”

“I guess what I’m sayin’, I guess what I’m sayin’ / I guess what I’m sayin’ is, I / I fuckin’ love you.”  Though it took him a while, on the chorus of “I.F.L.Y.,” urban-pop artist Bazzi finally ‘dropped the bomb,’ literally.  Gone are the days where “I love you” carry weight.  Now, it is a requirement, by the pop gods that extra emphasis is necessary via for under consent of the king, or simply, fuck.  Anyways, enough rambling, let’s get into “I.FL.Y.,” shall we?

First and foremost, Bazzi has a very beautiful voice.  Even if he gets ‘dirty’ on “I.F.L.Y.” – “Now all them other bitches so irrelevant…” or of course “I fuckin’ love you” – he has plenty of swagger and a compelling instrument to work with. Also, if you judge those two distinct lines, Bazzi’s heart is in the right place. Furthermore, he has a chill, smooth backdrop to sing over, led by guitar, and eventually anchored by hard-hitting beat.  Diving back into the lyrics, on the chorus, beyond that bomb, the dedicated artist sings:

“Love you through the better days

Love you through the rainy ones

Champion, you’re number one, yeah, that’s true…”

No, Bazzi doesn’t reinvent the wheel with his words, but, who can deny he says all the right things? Furthermore, aren’t his feelings towards his bae relatable? And “fuckin’” just adds more emphasis… hehe.

Final Thoughts

Short and sweet like most of his singles have been, Bazzi continues to show off his musical gifts.  No, “I.F.L.Y.” likely won’t be a song we’re talking about for years to come, keeping it 100, but, it’s chill, effective, and ultimately, quite enjoyable. Do I personally “fuckin’” love it? That would be an overstatement, but me likey.
