Ari Lennox, Get Close | Song Review 🎵

R&B singer/songwriter Ari Lennox impresses on her first solo single of 2023, the smooth and sensual, “Get Close.”

[otw_shortcode_dropcap label=”“I” size=”large” border_color_class=”otw-no-border-color” shadow=”shadow” square=”square”]just want you to call / So we can get congenial.” 🎙️ Ari Lennox seeks closeness to him 😍 on the sensual single, 🎵 “Get Close”.  Lennox penned the record alongside producers 🎛️ DZL and Wu10.  The backdrop matches the intimate, sensual nature of the songwriting, sounding smooth and incredibly soulful.  Sounds that fuel ⛽️ this fire 🔥 include electric piano 🎹, a robust bass line, and an ‘old-school’ drum groove.  Even as “Get Close” hearkens back to the past, it also sound refreshing.[/otw_shortcode_dropcap]

In addition to the songwriting and awesome production, Ari Lennox is the biggest reason for the success of the record.  Her voice is magical – expressive, nuanced, and incredibly sophisticated.  She brings out the best in the tuneful melodies, integrating authenticity and personality.  Furthermore, her ad-libs are on-point, accentuating the closeness even more. 🎵 “Get Close” isn’t game changing per se, but it marks another instance where Lennox preserves the sanctity of R&B, keeping it alive and well.  One of the best R&B tracks of 2023 hands down.
