“P

rada, that’s on my shoes, that’s on my shirt, that’s on my collar / I hit it once, ain’t hit her back ‘cause I’m a baller.” Woo! Melodic rap artist 🎙 24kGoldn is a cocky, confident baller on this two-and-a-half-minute single, 🎵 “Prada”. 24k doesn’t ‘ball out’ on his own, enlisting an assist from 🎙 Lil Tecca.  As you’d expect, Tecca embraces the opportunity to ball hard.

Besides the flex action that’s in full force, 24kGoldn and Tecca get an exuberant backdrop courtesy of 🎛 Humblebee, 🎛 Taz Taylor, 🎛 OVRCZ, and 🎛 Cxdy. That superteam of producers fuels the fire, setting both artists up for success. After 24k brings the heat on the chorus (“I told that bitch to do a trick and she said, ‘Ta-da’), Tecca ‘brings it on home’ on the first verse. “My new bitch see me every day,” he boasts, continuing, “Tinted windows on the whip, you can’t see me anyway.” He has a point.  As for 24k, he’s ‘on’ on the second verse as well with “Flash clothes, you know a nigga gettin’ hoes / And plenty dough, won’t let the game change me.” Well, he’s somewhat humble in that instance.  As enjoyable as his verse is, it’s that chorus that shines brightest.

Final Thoughts 💭

Bitmoji ImageSo, does 24kGoldn and Lil Tecca change the game with “Prada?” Of course not! This is an infectious though shallow pop-rap joint.  There’s nothing transcendent but it does create a vibe for the times.  Will we remember this flex cut years later? Probably not, but it’s a lift to the playlist for the time being.
