“She’s a very kinky girl / The kind you don’t take home to your mother.” Damn right 🎙 Rick James – a total 🎵 “Super Freak” (💿 Street Songs, 📅 1981)! As for 🎙 Jeezy, he’s in search for a “Super freak, super freak” per 🎵 “SupaFreak” (💿 TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition, 📅 2012). It should be noted, however, Jeezy’s “super freak” also involves drugs *cough* cocaine *cough*. Regardless, if you are some kind of F-R-E-A-K, well, you’ll be all about this freaky playlist – 🚫 🎓!

1. Lana Del Rey, “Tulsa Jesus Freak”
💿 Chemtrails Over the Country Club • 🏷 Interscope • 📅 2021
Sure, that’s sound advice from Del Rey, but we all know that Christianity itself isn’t what she’s likely getting at, even with J-E-S-U-S mentioned in the title. Even with a number of words associated with religion, the ‘Jesus Freak’ seems to have some relationship with substance, which makes you wonder how he and Lana truly can manage to be “White-hot forever / And ever and ever, amen.” “Tulsa Jesus Freak” is definitely thought provoking. Contextually, the record continues a “white hot” start for Chemtrails Over the Country Club.
2. Tyga & Megan Thee Stallion, “FREAK”
🎵 “FREAK” • 🏷 Last Kings / Columbia • 📅 2020
As for Megan Thee Stallion, she isn’t to be outdone. She asserts, “I can do a trick you ain’t know make you cum.” Of course, there’s additional carnality, such as “You ain’t eatin’, what you here for? Baby, I’m a nympho,” and “Real freaks don’t trip, they cum and then dip…” Wow! Beyond the sexual poetry, worth mentioning is the production by 🎛 Mustard and 🎛 Pliznaya, which gives this raunch, ratchet, ultra-freaky joint a lift.

3. Ciara, “Freak Me”
Ft. Tekno
💿 Beauty Marks • 🏷 Beauty Marks Entertainment • 📅 2019
Give 🎛 JR Rotem the credit he deserves for his work behind the boards. Known more for her vibe than vocal skill (no shade), the same can be said of her performance here. There are some great, smooth vocal harmonies, and the sexiness is potent, even if “Freak Me” isn’t transcendent.

4. Megan Thee Stallion, “Freaky Girls”
Ft. SZA
💿 Good News • 🏷 300 Entertainment • 📅 2020
Sex remains off the charts on “Freaky Girls,” obvious when the first words out of Megan’s mouth are “Freaky bitch, I do this, suck it like I’m toothless…” There are more unforgettable, absolutely filthy lyrics with “Bust that pussy wide, let him adventure inside / If my pussy was a beach, he get swept up by the tide” leading the charge. SZA isn’t ‘clean’ herself on the chorus, providing Thee Stallion with a pretty sweet vocal lift.

5. Lil Dicky, “Freaky Friday”
Ft. Chris Brown
🎵 “Freaky Friday” • 🏷 Commission Music / BMG Rights Management • 📅 2018
For Lil Dicky specifically, his flow is tight, as always, while his rhymes are absolutely absurd. The outro may be the most interesting part, where “Freaky Friday” gets really freaky, involving 🎙 Ed Sheeran, 🎙 DJ Khaled, and most hilariously (or disturbingly), 🎙 Kendall Jenner.

6. Adina Howard, “Freak Like Me”
💿 Do You Wanna Ride? • 🏷 Elektra • 📅 1995
“Freak Like Me” is a certified bop for numerous reasons. The groove is infectious AF with the sound embracing those West Coast vibes – G Funk. Notably, the record samples four songs: 🎙 Bootsy’s Rubber Band (🎵 “I’d Rather Be with You”), 🎙 Kool & The Gang (🎵 “Summer Madness”), 🎙 Sly & The Family Stone (🎵 “Sing a Simple Song”) and 🎙 Mary Jane Girls (🎵 “All Night Long”). Great fuel for the fire to say the least. The best fuel, of course, is Howard herself, serving up plenty of personality and amplifying S-E-X. Quite risqué at the time, Howard doesn’t cross the lines many artists do today, but she certainly serves as a proponent for women to express themselves sexually. The best moment? The catchy chorus, of course!
“‘Cause I will be a freak until the day until the dawn And we can boom-boom all through the night ‘til early morn Come on and I will take you around the hood on a gangsta lean ‘Cause we can boom-boom Any time of the day, it’s good for me.”
7. Doja Cat, “Freak”
🎵 “Freak” • 🏷 Kemosabe / RCA • 📅 2020
Although “Freak” runs long (approaching five minutes), it’s quite enjoyable and entertaining…also freaky (“Them bitches you fuckin’ with, I know they gon’ need some practice / So bring ‘em along wit’ ya, I’ll teach ‘em how to smash ya”). Woo! The source material for this Doja Cat record comes courtesy of Paul Anka, whose beloved classic 🎵 “Put Your Head on my Shoulder” is sampled. This makes for a lush backdrop. The producers (Doja and 🎛 Cambo) actually don’t have to do too much to make this work – add that contemporary beat. Vocally, Doja oscillates between sensual sung vocals, which at times, lifts off the melody of Anka’s classic, and her agile, rhythmic raps, yielding an impressive flow. Unapologetic? Of course, she is, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
“I could fuck him in the rain, I could fuck him in the Range (Uh) I could fuck him every day (Uh), I’ma fuck him ‘til he sang (Uh) Milkshake bring the boys to the yard, I’ma need the whipped cream Ain’t ever been vanilla, honey, just wait until you get a taste.”
8. George Michael, “Freeek! 04”
💿 Patience • 🏷 Sony Music Entertainment (UK) • 📅 2004
Clearly, “Freeek! 04” is far more risqué than say 🎵 “I Want Your Sex” from 💿 Faith. Michael doesn’t hold back, references booty, masturbation (“You shoot off, it saves you time”) and of course, the steamy sexual rendezvous. There are a number of fantastic one-liners including “You got yourself an ass with a mind of its own,” “Faces in places where the sun don’t shine,” and the potent, “I think II need to re-booty.” George sounds amazing and infuses plenty of personality, really selling the sex superbly. Adding to the sublime nature of this freaky experience is the minor key, further amplifying the naughtiness, and sleek production work by Michael, 🎛 Ruadhri Cushnan, 🎛 Niall Flynn, and 🎛 James Jackson. Worth noting, there are a couple of samples in play: Aaliyah (🎵 “Try Again”) and Q-Tip (🎵 “Breathe and Stop”).
9. Megan Thee Stallion, “Big Ole Freak”
💿 Tina Snow • 🏷 1501 Certified Ent LLC / 300 Entertainment • 📅 2018
Even if you weren’t hip to Megan before she scored a no.1 hit in 2020, the script was quite similar back when. The title “Big Ole Freak” is sexed-up, and so are the bars that are served up. Modesty doesn’t really suit Megan, so it’s not surprising when you hear unapologetic bars like “Ayy, I had a couple of shots at the bar / I’m finna play with that dick in the car” or “I need that neck like a muh’fuckin’ pendant / Need you to spit, make that muh’fucker glisten.” 😮😶

10. Lana Del Rey, “Freak”
💿 Honeymoon • 🏷 Interscope • 📅 2015
“Baby, if you wanna leave, come to California Be a freak like me, too Screw your anonymity, loving me is all you need To feel like I do...”
In the music video, which features 🎭 Father John Misty, there’s a clear cultish element. Coupled with the lyrics – particularly the “slow dance to rock music” – there’s the sense that Misty plays a Charles Manson -inspired character. Del Rey gets some Jim Jones influence in as well, specifically the infamous “Kool aid.”
“We could slow dance to rock music, kiss while we do it Talk ‘til we both turn blue Baby, if you wanna leave, come to California Be a freak like me, too.”

11. Usher, “Lil Freak”
Ft. Nicki Minaj
💿 Raymond v Raymond • 🏷 LaFace • 📅 2010
“By the way, you got right on that With the chick you wanted And now you in the corner, kissing on a girl I’m about to have a menage with these here ladies Look at those freaks at the bar, yeah, they looking for a star.”
“Lil Freak” brilliantly samples the 🎙 Stevie Wonder classic, 🎵 “Living for the City”. Beyond the source material, we get awesome production work courtesy of 🎛 Elvis ‘Blac Elvis’ Williams and 🎛 Polow Da Don – lit to say the least! Expectedly, we get great, sexy vocals by Usher. In addition to his lead and backing vocals, he also serves up some sweet ad-libs. The centerpiece of the record is the chorus, of course, which is infectious and totally titillating.
12. Petey Pablo, “Freek-A-Leek”
💿 Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry • 🏷 Zomba • 📅 2004
“Freek-A-Leek” features colorful, clubby, crunk production work that was popular in the mid-aughts. 🎛 Lil Jon (“To the window, to the wall”), unsurprisingly, handles the production work – he was a big proponent of the style/sound. Of course, the crunk phase was short lived, but no need to be a buzz kill. Petey Pablo delivers an easy going, appealing flow – nothing too flashy but sufficient by all means. The verses are filled with sex, as you’d expect, mostly concerned with the execution of the intercourse, hehe. One of the hooks is incredibly potent, where Pablo names all the girls’ names where this “freek-a-leek” is going down. This is specifically where he exhibits the most personality on this top-10 Hot 100 hit.
“Freek-a-leek (How you like it daddy) Shamika, Kiesha, Tara (freek-a-leek) (How you like it daddy) Shawna, Sabrina, Crystal, DaRhonda (freek-a-leek) (How you like it daddy) Lisa, Felicia, Tonisha, Shavon (freek-a-leek) (How you like it daddy) Monica, Monique, Christina, Yolonda.”
13. Jodeci, “Freek’n You”
💿 The Show, The After Party, The Hotel • 🏷 Geffen • 📅 1995
Despite the fact that “Freek’n You” runs long and is sexed-up to the nth degree, it’s a glorious listen. The production (🎛 Devante) definitely fits the sexual vibe that’s going down. You could argue that the sound would be dated in the 2020s, but back then, New Jack Swing was the dominant sound in R&B. I love the soulfulness and overall expressiveness of the vocals. Throw in the vocal harmonies and you truly have something special. On the bridge, the freek’n is definitely out of control. Obviously today, we don’t freak or freek, but go right for ‘the bomb’ as in f-bomb. The best part of the song is the incredibly horny chorus section.
“What must I say? What must I do? To show how much, I think about freek’n you.”
