11 Songs That Say It with Their Whole CHEST features music by Brent Faiyaz, Bring Me The Horizon, Fred again.., Tove Lo, and Zhukosis.
Ah, the chest! It is one of the most attractive parts of the human body! Who doesn’t love to 👀 those fit, ripped pectorals 🤤. Of course, all chests are beautiful, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As The Temptations sang, “Beauty is Only Skin Deep”. This playlist, 11 Songs That Say It with Their Whole CHEST, isn’t about buffing up that chest in the gym. Only in a few instances is the chest or breasts, objectified. These chest songs have layers… some of them. While most songs feature the word chest explicitly in their titles, there are objections. “Disco Tits”, “Shirtless,” and “Tits on the Radio” come to mind. Still, that chest area is involved! 11 Songs That Say It with Their Whole CHEST features music by Brent Faiyaz, Bring Me The Horizon, Fred again.., Tove Lo, and Zhukosis. So, let’s unbutton/rip off our shirts and show off our chests with pride as we partake of these 11 Songs That Say It with Their Whole CHEST! Chests out!

1. Zhukosis, “Chest”
“Chest” // ZOolYfe // 2024
“I’m busting a nut on her chest / Know shorty want me, I’m the best / I wake up I’m countin’ my checks.” Oh, snap! Mo’ like, oh she-it! That’s a prime example of an artist who performs with his whole chest. Of course, on “Chest”, ascending rapper Zhukosis isn’t referencing his chest. Instead, he’s ejaculating on hers… It goes with the rap territory. The rapper is bold, confident, and unapologetic on this brief but potent banger. A vibe from the get-go, some of the lyrics require a couple of listens to digest everything he says. At the same time, not every lyric is important – the ‘vibe’ speaks volumes.
In the rest of the chorus, the crème de la crème, Zhukosis snarls, “I pull up on you get you done / You pull up on me I won’t run.” Again, oh, she-it! He ain’t never scurred! “Chest” features hard-hitting, malicious, minor-key production. The beat is ill! Also ill are Zhukosis’ vocals, which are drenched in autotune. The chest lyric of “Chest” is the one to beat, however, the likes of “Got a Patek on my wrist / Got your bitch on my dick / She gon’ fuck wit me cuz I’m rich…” is a banger within this banger too. Zhukosis flexes hard AF on “Chest”. Those pectorals are pectoral-ing!

2. Ezra ASMR, “Chest”
Touching Skin ASMR // Insufficient // 2021
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is intriguing. While it’s not something that has induced tingling for me in the past, it is quite a listening and viewing experience. Ezra ASMR is an ASMR artist who creates “no-talking ASMR sounds.” He adds in his Spotify artist profile, “I try everything that tickles my fancy, and aim to create a cozy, comfortable, welcoming space for you to find rest, relaxation, and calm.” Word. On “Chest,” the sixth track from his 2021 album, Touching Skin ASMR, it’s all about the sounds of the chest being touched 🤯. This one-minute track will affect different listeners in different ways. From my perspective, I find the chest rubbing – or whatever means of touching – to be, hot 🥵. Maybe the relaxation intended by Ezra ASMR is more sensual… Picture it: he (or she, or whatever your preference) rubbing your bare chest… Yeah, there might be some tingles after all 🤤 😮💨 😈!

3. Fred again.. & Brian Eno, “Chest”
Secret Life // Opal Limited / Fred again.. // 2023
“Gut, feeling it in my, in my gut / Feeling in my chest.” Those are most of the lyrics from “Chest,” a collaborative song from Fred again.. (Fred Gibson) and Brian Eno. Notably, those lyrics appear later in this pectoral song, the 10th track from their 2023 album, Secret Life. The lyrics are far less important than the music. It’s the instrumental that makes “Chest” the ear-catching vibe that it is. The record runs just shy of five minutes in duration. It gets in no rush, moving at a leisurely pace and slowly evolving. The sound is atmospheric, beautiful, celestial, enigmatic, and nebulous. It never gets too low nor grows too high – it’s balanced with calm, cool, and collected energy. “Chest” is about the ambiance. It’s true to the sounds Eno has constructed throughout his illustrious career. Eno and Gibson penned “Chest” with Irving Adjei and Kissin Teef. They produced it themselves.

4. Tove Lo, “Disco Tits”
BLUE LIPS (lady wood phase II) // Universal // 2017
Subtlety and Tove Lo don’t belong in the same sentence. The Swedish pop artist can be described as unapologetic. It takes balls to name your sophomore album Lady Wood. Tove Lo is unapologetic on “Disco Tits”, which appears on her 2017 album, BLUE LIPS (lady wood phase II). She’s both blunt and infectious on “Disco Tits.” The groove is slick AF, and the vocal performance is filled with confidence and swag. Among the best moments is when she ascends into her falsetto. Naturally, she’s dialed in as this song is pure SEX.
Early on, the listener is exposed to horniness and unrepentant lust. The chorus just lays it out there:
“I’m sweatin’ from head to toe
I’m wet through all my clothes
I’m fully charged, nipples are hard
Ready to go.”
It’s trashy, mind you, but she’s being honest. Her honesty continues on without a hitch, notably on the pre-chorus. “Live right now, peakin’ on top / So wild now, I’m high as fuck,” she sings, continuing, “Don’t look down / My mind can relax / I know how to dial it back / No this time.” As risqué as it may be, Tove Lo has something going, beyond sex, on “Disco Tits.” It’s well-produced, well-performed, and irresponsibly infectious. Listen once, and you’re hooked.

5. Stray From The Path, “Chest Candy”
Euthanasia // UNFD // 2022
Stray From The Path comes out swinging on “Chest Candy,” and we’re not talking about jazz! The Andrew Dijorio fronted band ‘kicks ass and takes names’ on the highlight from their 2022 album, Euthanasia. “Chest Candy” commences with an enigmatic, malicious-sounding instrumental introduction. The tone is set. From there, things ratchet the fuck up. Instrumentally, SFTP serves up wild, distorted guitar (Thomas Williams), mean bass (Anthony “Dragon Neck” Altamura), and pummeling drums (Craig “Cowboy Crag” Reynolds). The song is quirky yet utterly satisfying. The groove is nothing short of electrifying. Dijorio is on autopilot. He kills it with his aggressive, unapologetic, and unclean vocals. He sings rhythmic ‘melodic’ lines that are not-so-melodic – more chanted and shouted. His angst and passion are easily perceptible:
“Hit em with the IEDs
Heavy artillery
While the infantries need the pills to sleep
Trade your fucking soul for that chest candy
Another colony, another casualty.”
Woo! The f-bombs fly, and the politics are ripe, too: “Fuck you to the red, white, and blue / Propagandists / Cause when the eagle has landed / It’s only damage / More damage / More damage / God damn it.” At the end of “Chest Candy,” the tempo slows, yet, the music is still lit as is Dijorio: “Send em into the furnace / Thank you for your service.” “Chest Candy” is some aggressive

6. Mark Edwards, “Hairy Chest”
Hair Chest & Old Hot Man // Marcos Pedreira // 2021
“I can be your baby, call me ‘son’ / Let me call you daddy, old white hot man / I’m a minor, don’t tell the cops…” 😳! Wow! Mark Edwards (Marcos Pedreira) delivers a sus, gay sex song with “Hairy Chest”. NO, it’s not sus because it’s a gay sex song – let’s get that straight! The lyrics, excerpted from the ‘chorus’ of this non-traditional, spoken word song, signal an inappropriate relationship. Age gap relationships aren’t uncommon in the LGBTQ community, but, the minor admits, he’s underage! The chorus continues in questionable and salacious fashion, “You won’t hurt me like the others, I know / Pay my rent and eat my ass / You have this hot young boy for yourself.” Yikes! Pedreira penned and produced this quirky, unorthodox song.
Before the chorus, there’s a conversation between this Daddy and boy. It should come as no surprise this conversation hails from a porno 😳. Fun fact, or TMI, In some gay pornos, there are situations where these daddy/son dynamics fuel the fire, particularly that bedroom fire 😈. The intro sets up this rendezvous that shouldn’t be happening. Of course, desire, lust, and horniness drive the narrative. “You saw me flex that ass,” the lyrics from the first verse say, continuing, “I saw you flex that big muscle / You could choke me with that.” Oh, snap! In the recurrent pre-chorus, the son admits, “I keep thinking of you / That hairy chest, those hairy legs / That long beard, your huge dick.” Instead of oh, snap, it’s more like oh, shit, with that said! Unsurprisingly, the son has daddy issues, but having sex with daddy doesn’t seem like the appropriate way to atone for them – just an observation! Still, desires are difficult to stave off evidenced by lyrics like, “Your lovely hair sweaty chest / Fuck I love it,” and the banging, “Come on papi, let’s fuck / I’m on four, let’s 69 / Licking your arms, kissing my neck / Hit me like you know, fuck me like I want.” “Hairy Chest” is something else 😳 😳 😳!

7. Kodak Black, “My Chest Out”
When I Was Dead // Vulture Love, LLC / UMG Recordings, Inc. // 2023
“Say, I’m walkin’ ‘round with my chest out / Who these niggas claim to be and never check out.” Kodak Black is confident. He knows he’s the shit, period. He continues rapping in the sole verse on “My Chest Out,” “I’m goin’ in, dog, feel like I’m the best out / She gon’ put up with my shit as long as she ain’t left out.” Word! “My Chest Out” is the 17th track from his 2023 album, When I Was Dead. The rapper offers nothing profound or transcendent in his rhymes, but he is true to himself. That includes references to sex, violence, and drugs. At one point, he asserts, “Couldn’t get her up the stairs, so, I just fucked her on the bean bag.” … Yeah… He also drops an inappropriate slur: “I like your stance, the way you dance / I don’t even like faggots grabbing on ya.” Do better, Kodak. It’s not the first time he’s used homophobic language. “My Chest Out,” which features a knocking beat, was produced by Dyryk, Snapz, Okami, James Craft, and Nick The Piff.

8. Bring Me The Horizon, “One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death” (Ft. Amy Lee)
POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR // Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited // 2020
Amy Lee (Evanescence) and Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon on the same track? That is a win! Lee collaborates with the British rock band on “One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death.” Yes, that is a 17-word song title! The song is the ninth and final track from the band’s 2020 album, POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR. Sykes is the first voice heard, but only briefly. He sings “oohs” in the intro before handing the reins to Lee. Lee plays the role of Mother Nature. She delivers beautiful, sincere singing. Even as beautifully as she sounds, she is brutally honest: “On the verge of no return, why’d you keep fucking it up? / Don’t wanna have to bury you, but nothing seems to get through your skull.” From there, she sings the 17-word song title, which Sykes later sings in his verse. After she delivers the chorus, Sykes, who plays the role of mankind, brings contrast in the second verse. He sings smoothly initially before amping up the grit: “The hole I wore into your soul has got too big to overlook / One day, the only butterflies left will be in our chests/ As we march towards our death, breathing our last breath.” Their chemistry when singing together in the chorus is amazing – the expectation from two awesome vocalists. I love how the music intensifies in this track. There are some epic music cues – keys and programming. The crescendo – the build-up – is marvelous. After reaching a fever pitch, things settle down: “Love isn’t in the air.” “One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death” is sublime.

9. Davis Mallory, “Shirtless”
“Shirtless” // Lionboy // 2019
“So, like a tall glass of water / Got me thirsty / Can’t take my eyes off of ya / when you’re shirtless, when you’re shirtless…” I’m not a fan of cocky guys, let alone those godawful, hedonistic, fuckboys. That said, like Davis Mallory on “Shirtless,” I appreciate legitimate eye candy. On “Shirtless”, that eye candy is quite decadent from Mallory’s perspective – and buff, muscular, HOT! “Shirtless” features slick production work, courtesy of Joakim Buddee, who writes alongside Mallory. The sound is bright, energetic, and enthusiastic. Regardless of sexual preference, think about how you feel when you see someone who’s fine as hell… That’s what “Shirtless” encapsulates. The lyrics are ‘over the top’ and dramatic, yet, we’re all ‘extra’ when it comes to crushes, fantasies, and such. “Shirtless” is not poetic, but there are memorable moments lyrically including “All of your muscles and your veins / Oh, they’re driving me insane / Raise my hands and singing praise / Thanking God for what he made / And the sun’s out / And your guns out.” JESUS!

10. Brent Faiyaz, “Target On My Chest”
Lost (EP) // Lost Kids / Human Re Sources // 2018
“I don’t do this for no thangs / I don’t do this for no chains,” Brent Faiyaz ‘melodically raps’ in the intro of “Target On My Chest.” He continues on the sixth and final cut from his Lost (EP), “I don’t do it for no rings / I just do this shit cause I can.” Word. “Target On My Chest” is about loyalty according to the singer. Following the rhythmic intro, the verse is more stable. A beat is established, anchoring the minimally produced (Los Hendrix) number down. Faiyaz is filled with confidence and swagger: “Niggas know what it is / Pussy niggas on the fence / I know niggas that hit / Dirty money can’t rinse.” Woo! He adds, “My niggas the wildest / We used to fuck up they parties / Girls gave me that sloppy / Late night in that dungeon.” Ooh-wee 😈! Brent is his most melodic in the hook and chorus. The chorus is the first time he mentions that target on his chest: “I’ll do anything / I’ll go all the way / I’ll jump off a plan / Target on my chest, for you.” One of the best features of “Target On My Chest” is the electric guitar solo at the end. Rock on 🤘!

11. Scissor Sisters, “Tits on the Radio”
Scissor Sisters // Polydor // 2004
“Where are the queers on the piers, heard they gave it their best.” That is a legitimate question, Ana Matronic. The question, rather, the lyrics, hail from “Tits on the Radio”, the groovy sixth track from Scissor Sisters’ debut LP, Scissor Sisters. Matronic, who takes lead duties (it’s typically Jake Shears, who also sings key parts) responds by singing, “Now they got jobs at a local fast-food chain / Flippin’ tricks for the burger since Lady M jacked their fame.” Interesting 🧐. The lyrics require some context and decoding. Missing queers? Lady M? With Scissor Sisters forming in NYC, it seems feasible the lyrics are referencing the city. In Times Square, there was a period that adult entertainment, sex work, and queer nightlife was huge. After ‘cleaning up the area’, things became too conservatized, causing many of the adult and queer entertainers to be jobless or trying to survive with underpaying jobs. Furthermore, Scissor Sisters suggests the queers lost some of their luster because Madonna (Lady M, we’d assume) is culturally appropriating their culture (“Vogue” is a prime example).
Amazingly, that’s just one verse of “Tits on the Radio” 🤯, which features risqué lyrics. In the second verse, we learn about Dark room Danny, who “Hears police alarm,” and “Can’t see with the lights turned out.” Multiple interpretations can be made, but if we stay in the realm of queer performers and sex workers, the end seems to have come. The adult theatres, clubs, and such are closed or in the case of the police alarm, being shut down. That leads us to the chorus, the catchiest part of the song, where “‘Cause you can’t see tits on the radio / I’ll give you five fingers for a one-man show / Fasten those pants for the lap dance / Take a shot now this may be your last chance.” Radio isn’t visual, but even metaphorically, in the 2000s, you couldn’t hear something lewd or overly sexual on mainstream radio. Furthermore, even from a visual sense, such as cable television, you also can’t see tits because its deemed inappropriate. All told, “Tits on the Radio” is one of the best, most under-appreciated songs from Scissor Sisters catalog.
