Zoey G, Runaway © Zoey GeorgeadesUp-and-coming teen-pop artist Zoey G shows tremendous potential on her infectious, Latin-infused single, “Runaway.”

16. That’s how old up-and-coming pop artist Zoey G is. Wow. Despite her youth, Zoey Georgeades is incredibly talented. Her talents aren’t limited to her voice – she’s also a multi-instrumentalist. Get it girl! G shines on single “Runaway,” due to appear on her upcoming EP.

The pros are ample on “Runaway.” First and foremost, Zoey G has a marvelous instrument at her disposal.  Her vocals are clear, pure, and smooth.  Her tone is radiant, while her overall approach is easy-going.  Zoey never under- nor over-sings.  She eschews histrionics, yet she’s better for it, exhibiting respectable balance.  Another pro is the production. The Latin vibes shine, driven by the guitar and percussion during the verses.  The chorus is backed by the best groove of the record, a full-fledged reggaeton beat.  Naturally, it makes you want to dance – no running away from that.  Finally, “Runaway” is catchy and infectious, particularly the pre-chorus and chorus sections.

Final Thoughts

Does Zoey G make any glaring missteps on “Runaway?” No.  All in all, this is a solid single, particularly given the youth of the artist.  Perhaps this song doesn’t necessarily blow away the masses, but the potential is undeniable.
