In the 10^th edition of Beaming with Pride ️‍ (2024), we highlight the song, “Good Boy” performed by ZEE MACHINE.

Beaming with Pride celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  In this column, we provide background and insight into the respective musician(s), as well as analyze + go gaga over the decadent bops being served up.  Furthermore, when the music dictates deeper, more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is articulated to the fullest.  All styles of music are welcome while the songs can be classics or brand-spanking new. So, without further ado, in the 10^th edition of Beaming with Pride ️‍ (2024), we highlight “Good Boy” performed by ZEE MACHINE.

“I’m making your eyes roll back, so, you’ll answer my call (answer my call) / Baby, say it out loud / Being such a good boy for me now.” Ooh-la-la, ZEE MACHINE (Joe Bissell). The talented, LA-based musician brings both the midnight and musical heat on their naughty, slickly produced single, “Good Boy”. Bissell, who pens this sexy record, also produces alongside Moises Zulaica. Some of the awesome sounds that grace “Good Boy” include rhythmic, scintillating synths, pummeling drums (including sweet drum runs), and electrifying guitars. This record features a fabulous blend of electronic, pop, and rock. Of course, the biggest claim to fame are the high flying, powerful vocals that Bissell delivers. Their upper register = everything.

Given the flirty, fun, and playful writing, and the ear-catching accompanying instrumental, it’s easy for ZEE MACHINE To bring the heat.  Sex is inspiring, and Bissell leans into it.  There are no shortage of memorable, sexed-up lines addressed to the said ‘good boy.’ Per ZEE, “Your body’s a highway, I’d travel every mile / Now that I got you wearing nothing but a smile.” Woo! Furthermore, this boy is doing a number on Bissell’s nether: “Driving me, driving me, driving me crazy (whoa!) / Waking my neighbors up all night long / And I know you’re just a temporary thrill / But the moment I feel you around me, I’m going for the kill.” Honesty is the best policy, and Bissell is enjoying the pleasure.  After all, “I feel like sinning baby / I got something to confess / I know I’m winning ‘cause I found me the best, we’re the best.”  After listening to “Good Boy”, no matter how ‘bad’ ZEE MACHINE may be acting (sexually ), you’ll be beaming with pride something fierce!
